So I took my cam out for some test runs this morning ... and I'm curious why some videos have GPS data ... others don't ... yet there are 180 lines in each GPS Log file?

A,100116,021628.000,3332.8558,S,15111.7954,E,023.7,19.6M,-01.84,+09.80,-01.23;
V,100116,021638.000,3332.4417,S,15111.9272,E,000.0,19.6M,+01.84,+09.19,+00.00;

Here are two lines ... a sample of when I have speed indicated and when I don't .... which also lines up to the map of when location is known or not known.

the GPS will output data regardless and the camera will log what's there, when it's all good the line will start with A, when you have no signal, or not enough signal it will start with V

Thanks for that ... I figured after looking through my logs that A and V meant something like that ...

My concern is the number of Vs ... I had an entire segment of todays 3 hour drive just missing data ... sounds odd to me. And when I look closely at the log files ... there are large chunks of V everywhere. Is this normal ... or do I have a dodgy GPS mount.

I'm guessing 50% of a 3hr drive in broad daylight with clear view of they sky was V.

having no GPS signal the first few minutes is pretty normal, several hours though, no, something is wrong

That's what I was thinking ... I'll give it another whirl tomorrow and see how it performs. If I still get dodgy readings ... I'll have to work on the warranty ... GREAT!

I'll give it a whirl ... but why would that make a difference? Also, there is some abberation on my lens ... doesn't look as sharp as it should be ... see JPG attached when I almost ran over a black lace monitor today!
