Used Mazda 2

My Niece are looking to buy a 2008 mazda 2, anyone have any ideas on what to look out for these ??

Avoid the diesel engines, which don't make much sense anyway, otherwise a good choice, don't even need to worry about cam belts, since it doesn't have one.

If you are going to check it out for her, read the buyers guide here, they have a few things to look for.

Can't go wrong with them or even the Hyundai Getz, I had one for a decade from new and never had any issues with it. Survived spinning out around corners, going down embankments and even driving thru half flooded street

Hello. I don't recommend Getz at all. A suspicious and ineffective machine.

Ford fiesta and Mazda 2 share the same platform. Fiesta is slightly better build quality, go for the 5door 1.2 80bhp and look for fiestas that meet 130g/km for emissions much cheaper road tax and insurance. Look for the zetec, pre facelift, or titanium, post facelift, if opting for 1.4 engine. Check regular annual oil change history. AVOID 1.0 litre eco-boom at all cost!!!
