Which do you think has a better quality picture?

KQQ K9 ($50, 4k front, 1080p rear)

Viofo A119 mini 2 (~$100, 2k front, GPS)

Based on the metadata, it's clear the K9 is no where near the file size for true 4K

File size, in my view is more of an indicator of bitrate chosen.

3840 x 2160 is not True 4K; it is UHD, 4K UHD, or UHD 4K, depending on marketing whims.

The better image is the VIOFO, for certain.

From the attached graphics, I will guess the second one is the A119 Mini due to the shown 4:3, bitrate, and resolution. That is more indicative of the 2K IMX675 used by the A119 Mini 2. I have no idea what CMOS the KQQ uses.
Looking at both those graphics, the VIOFO would likely have a better image due to the bitrate and frame rate.

The dashcam semantics are the worst. I miss the old days when 1080 was the gold standard, and there were two versions; p or i.

I was actually stunned when I posted the metadata on rdforum.org, I really expected more from the K9. When it was prime week, I purchased a 70mai, Redtiger 7 something, and a Viofo A119 mini 2

For some reason, I thought the K9 had the better image over the 70mai and Redtiger. So I sent those back (well, I kept the Redtiger rear cam bc it plugged into the KQQ)

Confirmation bias?
