Most likely heat induced focus shift, this still happen now and then.
The brave dashcammer can most often adjust his way out of this, this mean taking the system / camera apart, and adjust on the lens by turning it ( it can be secured by glue, but that is fixable )
My observations over the years seem to indicate lenses most often slide towards a nearer / too near focus so things really close will be in fine focus.

It only take a small adjustment of the lens, it is not like you have to turn it a lot, if possible use live preview on phone to see when focus is good again, double check by reviewing footage on good large screen before securing lens again with a dab of glue ( not CA glue )

Hi, mine was like yours, I saw a video of BC Hobbyst focus adjustment and I did the procedures, its ok now on frontal lens (it's stayed better than original adjust). Now I will did in the rear lens too.

Hello, I had the same problem with my camera, which I've been using for six years. The front camera was recording very blurry. I decided to take it out, open it up, and adjust the focus if I could.

First, I disassembled the camera. I removed the Cof tape and removed the lens. The red layer on the front camera lens had scratches.

There were light flares in the front camera video recordings, and the clarity was very poor. Thinking the flares might be due to scratches on the red layer, I scraped the red layer off, polished it with a Dremel polishing bit, cleaned it with alcohol, connected it to the device, and when I turned it on and checked the image, the image was completely red. I had difficulty unscrewing the lock nut to adjust the focus.

So I removed the lens of the rear camera that was recording properly and attached it to the front camera, and then attached the front camera lens to the back...

The shot of the front camera on the table at the end of the process...
I will install it on my car on Sunday and check the front and rear recording.

I glued a piece of wire to turn the lens when adjusting the focus.
