viofo hk4 dead?

Has anyone had the hk4 hardwire kit fail after 12 months of reliable use?

I now have to use the 12V socket.

I'm waiting to see if viofo will replace it.

What sort of failure?

I've heard of them having problems when too hot, and covered in insulating carpet...

I guess you mean zero power, which could be a connection problem. Have you checked with a multimeter that it is actually receiving power?

Did you check the fuse at the fuse block? Do you own a DVM?

There is possibility that the hardwire kit is defective now. But it is better to use a multimeter to test and reinstall the kit to have a try.
