Not even sure if they do one really & while I'm waiting on them replying I thought maybe it'd be quicker to ask here.

I had my A119v3 installed in my last car which needed scrapping. Took it out & sat in a box.
Came to put it in the next car & I don't know what's happened, whether it's ended up dropping, something has dropped on it, something mushed against it or whatever but it now looks like this...

Luckily it still records to the SD card ok - everything is clear when played back on a PC. It's just a nightmare to line up as you can't see anything worth anything through the units display.

This cost me £95 back in 2021. Haven't looked at todays prices but with the way the world is it's probably £495 now but anyway, depending what VIOFO charge it may not even be worth to repair, I don't know.

Just posting here to ask if anyone has been in touch with VIOFO regards repairs in the past & what they charged.

If your comfortable doing it, and have the tools and repair skills to do it yourself, it probably just a simple matter of replacing the LCD panel. Though, might not be cost effective if you need to source the tools, and if the lcd cost is too high.

Otherwise, i would suggest replacing it with the A119 Mini 2.

Well, if you are handy with tools, I would remove the screws and, at a minimum, check that the ribbon cable is still properly inserted. The assembly is not complicated; it is simple work. Pay attention and use your cell phone to take photos as you go along. Once apart, and if the LCD ribbon cable is inserted fully, you can see if there is a manufacturers part number, if there is, you can see about getting an LCD off of Ebay or similar.

Often it is just the ribbon cable that connect the screen that have come loose in the ZIF / FPC / FFC connector thingy.
So this itself is tool less

Also wondering.

Here in Denmark we now have something called repair cafe, which fix old / broken things, for free as i recall, well at least in regard to wages.
Thats a good thing if you do not have DIY skills or the bravery to just tear into something to give it a go.

You can scroll down a little to get a bit in English, i would hope you guys have something similar, to keep friendly knowledgeable guys occupied and keep things working instead of throwing out and buy new.

I am pretty sure Viofo do not have a repair shop, but they might well be able to help with a spare screen, or steer you in the direction to where you can pick one up.

I applaud the people that dont just throw out and buy new.

you could also try the Buy/sell forum in here to see if someone have a old working / not working A119 V3 lying around, that you could butcher for the parts you need.

PS: not up to date with the prices but quite sure you can find a single channel camera like what you have, that is newer model and even better image quality for the same price 495 UK quid would buy you the very latest dual 4 K system if i am not mistaking.
