I'm looking for a good quality camera that can record 24/7 in the event someone might possibly hit my car when I'm not in it. I'd like a 2 channel DVD system, but its not 100% necessary. My price range is about $250. I've been looking at the livue lb100 because of the price and the ability to shut itself off if my battery gets low and the g sensor. Thanks for looking.

FineVu CR500, does all this but is a little more expensive - hard to beat on video quality though. I would recommend the ITB100 for price, reliability and design 🙂

The power cutoff in the Livue is pretty much useless because it's too low so it's still better to use a third-party cable.

If you are driving the car daily or at least two days and the battery is good you don't need nothing more than the camera/ The battery discharge protection from Livue is better than nothing. That 11.8V is available only if that is happening for at least 30 seconds.
I can do more useful things with my money instead of spending on some expensive "Power Magic" protection. And if I really want some protection I will look for cheaper products, not to pay a lot of $$ on marketing.

I am sure any korean company with 12V cameras can implement the power safe feature in their firmware and let the user set even the voltage, for example 12V or 12.1V. But they want just more money. I appreciate Livue because is correct and offering the firmware option like Smart-i 3500HD too.

regards,
Michael

Well, if you use your car daily then you also don't need the built-in cutoff feature, which as I said is pretty much pointless.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm going to order the Livue LB100. Video quality looks really good and the overall price is great for all the features of this camera. Has great control of the camera as far as settings. Would be nice to be able to adjust the voltage cutoff to whatever you like though.
