In the options for the Mini 2's wifi, it lists 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz, and 5.8Ghz. Now, I understand 2.4Ghz vs 5Ghz wifi, but never heard of 5.8Ghz wifi. What is the difference between 5Ghz and 5.8Ghz wifi? In what circumstances should the 5.8Ghz option be chosen? I assume the phone running the VIofo app needs to be able to support 5.8Ghz wifi. I'm not sure, but is 5.8Ghz the same as the Wifi 6 standard?

5.8GHz is not WiFi 6. 5.8GHz means the frequency is around 5800MHz.
You can check this for article for details.

So you mean the 5GHz option covers the many 5GHz channels in the frequency range from 5150MHz to 5795MHz, and the 5.8GHz option covers the few 5GHz channels from 5815MHz to 5895MHz? I'm not sure how one would know when it's best to use the 5.8GHz option.

Normally you can choose the 5GHz option. The 5.8GHz is for some users who reported the 5GHz not working well in their country.
