I was surprised to see that the A119 Mini 2 doesn't have the Wifi Station Mode option since this was even available on the older A129's.

@viofo @VIOFO-Support Are there any plans to add this to the Mini 2 via a firmware update?

This will be added in future update version.
We take much time to update the Mini 2 to the latest SDK, still testing the new version.

Thank you for the update - the community would very much appreciate this addition.

This is good news.
I hope that in the future, when the wifi station mode is active, it will be controllable and monitored via the application.

Guessing this will also be added to VS1, as SDK the same across both products using the Starvis 2 and similar Novatek chipsets :)

@viofo can I add a suggestion to the functionality?
The @ogzogz message makes sense, basically phone just needs to know camera's ip on the network to control it. I assume that app also saves camera's mac or other id after pairing to identify it later, right? Now when the camera and phone are connected to the same router (via Wifi station mode), phone app should be able to recognize camera on the network. Most likely shouldn't be a super complicated upgrade.
Another great addition will be a feature to auto-enable Wifi station mode at "home" location. The "home" location could be set by saving existing GPS position with a radius of 100 m for example. And auto-disabling when location is leaved.
This can be also implemented in other camera models and Viofo will be the dream perfect dashcam. I'll just setup my NAS to auto-download camera files every time car is parked near my home without any additional hot spots, or manual actions.

It is possible to implement that feature.
We developed a beta version of parking disable in garage on A139 Pro, but not finally released, this can be added in our future new app.

Any thoughts on when the new firmware will be released for A119 mini 2 with Wifi station?
