Dash Cam

I have been looking for a GS8000L on Ebay , and there are a few variations :
Obviously stay away from Motion JPG : ( goes without saying )
That leaves the AVI - H.264 ...
Begs the question , which is the better lens ?
120deg - 140deg - 170deg ?

Is there a MOV H.264 version ?

never been a great camera, why do you want one of these specifically?

Hmmm , some youtube samples are poor , and some are ok , so the question begs why ? ( obviously depends on what flavor you buy )
Same goes with other dash cameras , some samples are poor and other are quite nice , so whats going on ?
Obviously its the internals ..

Having played with some cheap cams , I can attest to the fact that Mjpeg Sux's hard ...
Not many of them are really true HD , but rather ( is it called up scaled ? )
Taking a 1280x720 and simply enlarging or zooming it to 1920x1080 , so there is no real increase in quality at all .
Ok the video is 1920x1080 , but the quality sux's ...

So why are some GS8000L cams reasonably good ?
I have seen some C600 Cam video that's rather good
And lets not forget the K6000 , same deal . Some video is quite good , while other bites hard .

Why do I want a GS8000L , not just any , but one of the good ones ( if possible )
Because I plan to buy the GS8000L - C600 - K6000 and do a write up on the 3 cams for my website ..

I currently run a G90 with GPS up front and my G1Wc as my rear cam ..
I also ordered a Mini 0805 with GPS ..
The G90 seems to suffer a lot of flare and reflection problems ( needs a polarizing filter )

But I havent given up on testing , so the next 3 cams will be my last ...
+ I will do a direct comparison between the G90 and 0805 ( priced almost the same )

Its all good fun !

GS8000 was an Ambarella A2 based product so could do true 1080p, the product has always had some issues though but I believe it's no longer available anyway

the GS8000L is a low cost variant with a low end Novatek chipset that is not true 1080p, no better than some of the other low end no name cams you've tried so far, I'd suggest not wasting your money on this particular model

OLD4570, I sent you a PM with a link from where I bought mine. It's ...okay. I wouldn't tell someone to not buy it since mine was $23 shipped, but are there better ones out there, definitely.

Yes , Thank you ..
I have two cheap cams on the way with the same chip set , so ?
I have found another cam with a more updated chip set , so might pass on the GS8000L for now ..

GB has few cams worth watching between 30 and 40 yank buckaroo's
Not sure about the 20 to 30 buckaroo region ..
I have a K6000 and a C600 on order ( Real FHD = 1920x1080 - I hope )
I have seen some GS8000L footage on youtube that looks quite decent ..
But which GS8000L produced the decent video footage , plenty of awful footage ..
And so many of these budget cams are out of focus as well , just another wrinkle .

So ATM Im just seeing what I might buy next month , I think Im shopped out for August ... ( $$ )

Mini 0805
K6000
C600
WL Toys 977 Micro Helicopter

That might be enough for this month ....

Novatek 96220 / Aptina AR0330 CMOS / whats claimed to be in the K6000
Novatek 96220 / AR0330 / whats claimed to be in the C600

Full HD(1920*1080 )/30fps 140° View
Video Format
H.264/MOV For the K6000

Full HD(1920*1080 )/30fps 160° View
Video Format
H.264/MOV For the C600

My best guess is lie'r lie'r panties on fire ...
But the claims have been made
