Stumbled across this on ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/231440157943

Perfect for a discrete install in a clown car or parade float :D

Does anyone know the legitimacy of the melkin branded Mobius?

I would never buy one, but I am curious as to whether they are rebranded or fake.

Those pictures in the listing look pretty bad both in making the camera huge looking and the poor bluing out of the Red Bull logo.
I tried to buy one from a seller who used pictures that made the camera look that big just to see if it was fake and I never got any camera and eventually got refunded.

And the skier has a GoPro around his waist... :D

There's a Developer approved list for a reason. If the company is not on it then it's not real.

R&D = Remember and Duplicate

? - AVI vs MOV on real Mobius
? - 5 Mpix CMOS vs 3Mpix on real Mobius

When I first mentioned them in the other thread I figured they were fake based on the advert. But after seeing the clown colors I got curious as to whether anyone knew anything about melkin.

I guess they're just like all the other cloners/counterfeiters.

I can't help but laugh at the name of these - if you pronounce it as it would be called locally in China it's Merkin - and if you haven't heard of that before then I'll let Google explain - it's not safe for work though!!

mobius-actioncam.com aren't on the list, but do sell the genuine product. Why some resellers of genuine Mobius cameras fail to get on the list is known only to the Mobius developer, but may be due to a lack of commitment to give the buyer good service before, during, and after a sale.

Safest bet is to buy from one of the names listed at...

Hmm - DAYGLO Orange please. Reactive to UV light too in case it gets lost.
Agreed it's not much cop as a DashCam - but for the RC guys colours might be a plus.
