Is one of the several V1.32 versions on track to become a release version, or is it more of a science project? I only ask because It's coming up on a year of V1.32 being in work.
I'd like to take advantage of the WDR improvements, but am a bit lost between what's posted in your beta thread...
I did purchase via Amazon in the USA, and there's a barcode sticker saying "SGGCX2PRO-32" and "plus firmware installed" ... nothing says SGGCX2PRO+ anywhere I can see, but I'm not going to pull up the sticker to see what's underneath; I think my question was answered to my satisfaction.
Ok, so no hardware differences between the X2PRO and X2PRO+ (for the front camera), just a different boot loader for firmware & rear camera compatibility?
What’s the difference? I just ordered an X2PRO+; what arrived was a box marked “X2PRO”, with a sticker saying “plus firmware installed”.
Do I have an X2PRO or an X2PRO+?
I think I'm satisfied for the moment that the root cause of the problems I've been having on the V3 was probably a card handling issue on my part. I'm still going to keep my eye out for funny behavior from the camera just in case, but I'm not going to point fingers at the V3 until/unless I see...
Noted. I'm going to give this a try, though. And if I still run into issues, I'll know what to do next.
Are camera settings stored on the camera, or on the card?
If I do end up having to reformat all the time, will I have to re-enter my camera settings?
What I've done just now instead, as a bit of an experiment, is deleted the '.Trashes' folder via the terminal and created a file called '.Trashes' instead. Maybe that'll work without having to reformat and blow everything away each time I get a file off the card.
After each time I've had it in the computer ... haven't been doing that. Good to know.
Is there some reason I'm only running into this '.Trashes' issue now on the V3 and not on the V1 over the previous 6 months? Luck?
Yes, I did. Very cognizant of that.
Note: I edited my previous comment to strip out mention of missing video files. I found them in a hidden '.Trashes' folder on the drive. Not sure why formatting on the camera didn't get rid of that... but I'm glad my videos aren't lost.
Edit: Nope...
I had the exact same thing happen to me a week or two ago with my V3 and a 200GB card I've used without issue for 6 months in a V1.
Another issue I've seen is that, every once in a while, when the V3 starts up it'll ask to reformat the card. I don't notice this sometimes, and I think it just...
Does this mean the V1 also supports up to 200GB memory cards?
I don't remember that being the case when I bought my V1 a year ago, but I've still got a 128GB card from my old Lukas camera that I'd love to be able to call back into service.
What are the power demands of the SG9665GC?
Since the main unit uses a USB connector to receive power, I'd like to use a generic USB cable with a lower-profile car power adapter than what comes with the product. Want to make sure I use one that provides adequate current -- can't imagine it...
