dvr 207gs jerky video

hello fellow dvr users,
I bought the dvr 207gs and i have tried several different 10 class cards but the video is very jerky. At a constant rate, like very three seconds, jerk go jerk go. I format the card to fat32. That was a must just to get the camera passed the welcome screen.

update, i discovered the problem is not the sd cards at all. The problem is with the media player VLC. It didn't have the h.264 codec. I downloaded and installed and video shows up with no jerking. That is in my Windows computer. In Ubuntu it is still choppy and i downloaded the package x264, but no improvement. I'll have to view back in windows.
