Hard Wire Install Kit - Modification Question

I have an install kit from "The Dash Cam Store": http://www.thedashcamstore.com/installation-kits/
They're similar to install kits you can get on Amazon or eBay with a 12v to 5V transformer, a 15 foot Mini USB cable, and two wires (red with the fuse tap, and black with the grounding ring)

I'd like to know if I was to extend the length of the red and black wires by splicing in about 7 feet of wire on each, if that would cause any issue.

My fuse box is under the driver's side dash. My goal is to have the transformer and entire length of USB cable sit under the passenger side dash.

Anyone see a problem with this?

extending the power side is far better than extending the USB side, use appropriate gauge cable for your situation and terminated correctly and you'll be fine, I'd test it's working correctly before cutting anything though just on the off chance it has an issue

As jokiin says tis ok, I have extended loads, used speaker wire on most as up to it current wise and cheap off the reel!!
