I'm having an installer hardwire my dash cam but they normally install audio systems not dash cams. So they will be a little unfamiliar with the dash cam install. So what's the difference in these two power adapters?

What voltage should I use as a cut off?

Is it best to hide the black box shaped section of the power adapter? The 2nd one has a button. So I'm not sure if it needs to be hid or not...not sure if I will need to locate it in the future. The first one has no button and may lead to less confusion by the installer but the voltage can't be changed. Will I need to change it at some point?

Thanks guys!

first one is a basic cutoff, once voltage drops below the set threshold it will cut power to dash cam
second one has adjustable voltage you can set yourself so it will turn off the cam when battery drops below set voltage, it also has a button you can override accessories when you park in a parking lot and you want the cam running all the time compared to parking in your shed at home where you may not want it running after ignition off.

yaaay, I finally beat jokiin, pier28 and niko to a reply post, woohooo

I already have the multi safer. It is pre set at 11.8 volts. The user manual was in Chinese. Would it be a problem to install this in a hidden location?

if you don't need to use the button or access it in a hurry then I don't see why not, I have one power magic unit hidden under the dash. never touch it.
