I have my loop set to 10 minutes, motion detection on, g-sensor on, gps on, speed on. I pulled in the driveway and the file hit 10 minutes and ended, but no new file started. I then shortly left to get food, and it didn't start recording until I left the restaurant. So a couple hour gap of no video. What could be the issue? Im using a 64gb class 10 samsung SD card

I would start by turning motion detection off and see how that works for you. It's not all that sensitive on most dash cams and can cause recording to stop/start in seemingly random ways.

I'll try that but motion detection has always worked good a car will drive by and it will record for 60 seconds after that then stop as it should. I'll turn off motion and check it tomorrow morning see if I'm missing files

What firmware version are you running?

Not sure, I orderd it 2 months ago and haven't updated it

I have the same problem. My loop time 3 min,motion detection is off,G-sensor on,GPS-on.SDcard-Transcend class 10 UHS-1
During the driving half of the files missing-just use it for 2 days and realy disappointid🙁
Ok,i just made few tests.that missing files only happens when i am cut of engeen,so all the files that was recording at the moment when i cut off engeen or unplug the dashcam are missing(corruptid i can not play them). And this is dissapointing because in case of acccident if the dashcam will be out of power you gona mees the most important file.
So to awoid the "missing files" i need to stop recording by pressing the REC button or Power button-in that case dashcam save those files properly. And if i just unplag dashcam or cut off engeen that last file are missing.Any suggetions haw to awoid this?

I'm a little confused by your post. Do you have it hardwired? Unless the camera is wired to a power source that is always live, the camera will shut off when you shut off the car. Are you saying you have missing files because your camera was off?

no it is not hardwired yet.But it doesn't matter even if i disconnect dash cam from the power bank or PC or any other power supply ,the video which is recording at that moment are corrupted. I don't now exactly what is the reason but that file(video) when i cut off power, is always messing. Is it only me have that problem???

OK, I misunderstood your post. Sounds like however you are powering the camera is not supplying enough power or you may have a bad capacitor. Try using the supplied car adapter and USB cable and see how the camera works. Or try powering it with a USB charger (phone charger) in a wall out let. Computer USB ports generally don't supply enough power to properly operate a dash camera.

like i say before it happens everywhere not only when it is connected to computer usb.In the car i use supplied car adapter.

Thought you said you were using a power bank. Either exchange it or check the capacitors.

On the bottom of the camera there are 4 small screws in the 4 corners. Remove the 4 screws and gently pry the back off. Start at the lens end, being very careful as part of the lens adjuster is spring loaded. You don't want the lens to pop out without knowing how everything is put together. Once the back is off you should see the capacitors. See the picture below. Inspect to see if they look "puffed" on the bottom. FYI, opening up the camera could void your warranty.

NO.......... First try connecting it to a phone/tablet power lead that has the same connector and try again.

As has been said........ Computer USB ports are not the most stable way to provide the power needed for certain instructions.

it doesnt wark in the car!Haw the phone charger can halp whith that?

Sometimes the car charger doesn't fit the car cigarette port well causing poor or no power. That is why I mentioned it above. A phone charger, with the supplied short USB cable, is a good test with (usually) stable power.

I get your point.I just check whith phone churger-same problem.I did contac the seller he said that the camera should not be switched off immediately after i cut off engeen or unplag it, so it can save the file. And if the camera shutdown immediatly after i unplag it that mean the capacitor defective. In my case this is exactly what happened-camera shutdawn right away after i unplag it.

Yes, probably the capacitor. However, it's always good to check other options, as I have seen similar shutdown issues when the camera was being under powered.

you are right, but in my case it was the wrong choice to go whith VIOFO and come back to chinece dashcam(unfortunately). That "missing files " are not the only problem, there also GPS mount wobblyng in my camera. But i need to say that PQ are pretty good, and it could be a good dashcam in case of overal good quality-which is not.
