Here are my results.
Summary:
Summary:
- Issues: Standby (STDBY) current is too high, firmware needs to be fixed because the sensor is running while it shouldn't be. Power consumption depends on which mode the camera is in, if the mode is set for 1080p60 then your standby current will be much higher than 480p240.
- Video Quality (Normal vs Extremely Fine) causes an increase by 0.05W at most, thus does not generate extra heat
- 1080p60 has the highest power consumption at 2.0W
- 480p240 has the lowest power consumption at 1.1W
- WiFi ON mode refers to running the image sensor but not saving video to disk, streaming video to device consumes 0.3-0.4W (480p vs 1080p60)
- Saving video to disk consumes 0.3-0.6W (480p vs 1080p60)
- Highest power consumption mode is 1080p60 with WiFi streaming at 2.7W
- G-Sensor and microphone do not consume much power <0.05W
- Megapixels per second and FPS do not linearly correlate to power consumption as seen from 4K24 vs 1080p60 and 1080p60 vs 720p120 FPS measurements.
- Current draw is not constant, depending on mode, current could be constant 0.22A or it could be 0.2A to 0.5A based on what the processor is doing.
- Temperature rating corresponds to power consumption. 2-3W will burn, 1.4-2W will be very hot, 1.2-1.4W is hot, 1.1-1.2W is very warm, <1.1W it is warm.
