Anyone else interested in support for exporting/importing settings? I maintain the cams (all Viofo) for all the cars in my family and just updated the firmware on all of them, which reset all settings to default; having to reconfig all of them afterwards was a small exercise in tedium (especially the wifi settings). Seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to implement an import function that reads a txtfile placed at card root containing the settings, along with an export function that basically calls a custom toString() for the Settings page in the app.

Would also make it easier to keep track of which cam settings were used for which recording when experimenting, though this is admittedly a fairly one-time use case.

I think it would be nice to have voicelines for when HDR turns on and off instead of the normal recording started message in order not to confuse new users. And for when ether the rear or interior camera gets connected or disconnected.

Hello,
You can email your request directly to Viofo here; Support@viofo.com
Or you can edit your post, by tagging them by interesting the @ symbol in front of their user name like this;

voicelines
Do you mean ā€œVoice Notificationsā€?
when HDR turns on and off instead of the normal recording started message in order not to confuse new users.
I’m not sure what you mean.
for when ether the rear or interior camera gets connected or disconnected.
Do you mean you want separate Voice Notifications to announce;
ā€œInterior Camera Connected / Disconnectedā€
ā€œRear Camera Connected / Disconnectedā€
I don’t think this is possible because the same output can be used for multiple cameras;
1.) IR Interior
2.) Rear
3.) Telephoto
Don’t let me discourage your request though.

Feel free to attach my video demo for better understanding.

I’m not sure what you mean.
When using Auto HDR, when it switches On/Off automatically, he wants a voice message "HDR: On.", instead of the current voice message "Recording: 2 Channels Started.", or maybe "HDR: Auto On."

And for when ether the rear or interior camera gets connected or disconnected.
I found this by accident looking for something else.

Forgot this one above, but - it would be nice if Viofo's site offered an archive of past (official) firmwares instead of only the current one for a given camera. I'm only aware of CaptureMyAction hosting previous versions, but it's usually only the previous one or two versions before the current version; anything else requires trawling through these forums and hoping Viofo has a copy of what I want uploaded to we.tl.

I know some users self-host previous versions, but anything that doesn't come from Viofo poses a potential security risk for cams that support wifi, and especially for those supporting wifi station mode. (Not accusing anyone of malintent, just saying.)

I agree 100%.
I think the reason they don't post previous firmware versions is because even breaching the subject can "open a can of worms".
I have a Retail / Production A119 Mini 2 (1st batch narrow FOV lens), and when I recently updated to the latest firmware it's been "acting wonky".
I wish I could go back to the "old" firmware when it was rock solid stable.
But I have decommissioned the camera to make room for new ones.
However, for a paying customer this could be maddening.

Wayback Machine
That would be nice.
But it's like @bobloblaw said.
Anything that doesn't come straight from the Official Viofo Website could be suspect.

Wish I could edit my post and remove everything after "anything that doesn't come from Viofo poses a potential security risk" - forgot about the scenario where modded firmware could write something to the SD card and just have it sit tight until the card is removed from the camera and connected to a suitable host. Likely? Almost certainly not. But that's arguably what security is all about, so...

That said, as far as Wayback Machine goes, if the firmware copy was picked up and stored as part of a standard archive operation of a Viofo download URL, I'd be more inclined to trust it than something hosted by CaptureMyAction, certainly moreso than anything self-hosted and/or user-uploaded. Security concerns aside, the biggest issue is that Viofo uses the same filename and download URL for every version of a given firmware, so you'd have no way off the bat of knowing what version you were downloading. Which leads me to a tangential improvement wish - adding checksums to the download pages.

Note that all bets are off for Wayback-hosted copies that are user-uploaded.

Would it be possible to have a screensaver for USB mass storage mode in order to prevent screen burn?
For those who don't have a Micro SD card adapter and need to perform a deep scan to recover files. Can take many hours depending on the capacity of the SD Card.
I don't understand.
What camera do you have?
Are you saying you can't remove the Micro SD Card, and insert it into your computer?
If you have an A329 you can connect the camera with the included USB Type-C to Type-C Data cable (in the box) to your computer, and you can download footage up to 55MB/s.

Sounds like he's copying the microSD card contents with the Viofo dashcam plugged into his computer via USB. Long laborious way of doing it :/
