Posted below is my early thoughts and unboxing photos of the all-new Viofo A329T (have posted it here as there are already a multitude of threads covering the excellent Viofo A329S/T/WW variants). Contained thereafter is my original post detailing the initial announcement and ongoing discussion regarding the A329S and it's other variants.

Halfway through 2025 and @viofo @VIOFO-Support are back with their halo release, the A329S/T/WW. This release builds on the success that last year's Viofo A329 experienced, adding back the option of a telephoto camera (missing since the A229 Pro), waterproof camera, or an all-new cabin interior camera with fisheye lens. These have been denoted 'S' for packages containing the interior cabin camera, 'T' for those with the telephoto, and 'WW' for those with the IP67 waterproof rear cameras.

The telephoto variant I have on hand here is marked the 'T' variant, and abolishes 2024's A329 release's microHDMI port for a coaxial cable to facilitate the connection of the telephoto camera. The other coaxial port is used for connection of the rear camera; the USB-C port on the other side of the A329T is reserved for the connection of an external SSD should a user wish for one. New this year is the labelling of the rear and telephoto cameras with their respective part numbers: RC420 for the rear, RTC420 for the telephoto. The main sensor sees the Starvis 2 IMX678 return with 4K recording, and the rear and telephoto cameras carry over the excellent Starvis 2 IMX675 2.5K sensors. With these new cameras, Viofo has also added ventilation holes to each (and by extension the interior cabin camera and waterproof rear cameras), to add with heat dissipation. A nice touch and added insurance policy to the operation of these dash cameras.

When it comes to the box itself, we have the usual assortment of accessories and goodies that Viofo are known for packing. We have the usual literature of quick start guide, user manual and after-sales support information that greets the user upon opening the box. The main camera unit, and telephoto and rear cameras are all packed snugly in the protective foam inserts. Under that we have the D6000 car charger (with additional USB-C port), short Viofo-branded USB-C to USB-C data cable, right-angled USB-C power cable for the main unit, and both rear and Telephoto units coaxial cables. Rounding out the retail contents are Viofo warning stickers, electrostatic stickers for mounting, spare 3M adhesive stickers for all three cameras, black plastic pry tool and CPL filter for the front camera.

First impressions of the Viofo A329T are positive, with the solid and no-creaking build quality that Viofo are known and respected for. Nothing new really to add here over their previous solid releases in the A329 and A229 Pro, apart from the physical additions and port-swapping that I have detailed above. Of note is that there will be a new HK6 parking kit available in the near future, to enable the new hybrid parking modes on the Viofo A329S/T/WW variants. These new parking modes will put Viofo firmly in the lead in the dashcam market, when it comes to the wide scope of parking mode options paired with very low power consumption - a definite win for users everywhere.

Installation of the Viofo A329T was once again a cinch, with there being additional options for the user to order shorter or longer cables for the telephoto, namely 30cm or 15cm. This is mirrored also with the A329WW variants, who are also able to order 8, 10 and 15 metre cables for installation in scenarios such as longer pick-up trucks or a semi-trailer truck for example. Viofo has really hit it out of the park this year, by adding every combination and flexibility in ordering options that a user could want.

The Viofo A329S was released May 19, 2025. @viofo @VIOFO-Support

With the new 3-channel version of the A329 called the A329S, has support for a new fisheye interior camera. But there is also configurations available with a telephoto camera or waterproof rear camera.

The new interior cabin camera is posited to have a fish-eye lens to expand the field of view, to 210 degrees field of view. The telephoto remains 2K resolution; it is still the Starvis 2 IMX675 just like the previous RTC300.



Looks like it could be a slam dunk for Viofo with the A329S in terms of the powerhouse configurations available on tap. We now have information on what configurations will be available which are as follows:


Standard Edition: A329S 1CH (front cam), A329S 2CH (front+rear cam), A329S 3CH (front+rear cam+fisheye interior cam)

Telephoto Edition: A329T 2CH (front+telephoto cam), A329T 3CH (front+telephoto+rear cam), A329TW 3CH (front+telephoto+waterproof rear cam)

Waterproof Edition: A329SW 2CH (front+waterproof rear cam), A329SW (front+waterproof rear cam+fisheye interior cam), A329WW (front+waterproof rear cam+waterproof rear cam)

Model numbers of Viofo add-on cameras: Rear: RC420 Telephoto: RTC420 Fisheye interior: RCC360 Waterproof: RWC400

Good marketing move by Viofo I would say. The telephoto and interior cam option are what I would go for.

I had made a previous request to @viofo to make the ports camera agnostic, any camera in any port. Also requested that the video files for the telephoto would have the 'T' appended to it. On the A229 Pro since they use the rear cam port for the RTC300, the video file has an 'R' in the file name instead of a 'T'.

I would definitely join you with that one. I wonder how much the bitrate would be cut down by being 3-channel, but would imagine it would be better than the outgoing A229 Pro.

Either way, bye bye HDMI port and hello faster NT98530 chipset. I am presuming the USB 3.0 port remains though...
 
Very nice to see the telephoto lens being available for the A329(S).

It will be interesting how it will perform and how it will deal with the overall bitrate.

Indeed! I am so glad I passed on the first A329 dash cam. The A329S seems to have a larger chassis, or maybe it is just the way the pictures look to me. A slightly larger body would not hurt for cooling, that is for certain.

Found some extra info that the telephoto camera remains at 2K resolution, and that the new interior cabin camera has a fish eye lens now. Would explain the bulbous photos looking like it does with the lens.
 
Any idea if there are proprietary cables? Also, it would be interesting to see if my Telephoto or IR from the A229 Pro will work on the A329S; I sort of doubt they would but, interoperability would be nice if everything remains USB-C.

Hard to tell from the photos to be honest, it looks the same with ventilation grilles and everything, but the micro-HDMI port has gone and been replaced with another coaxial port which is a welcome change.

Looks like USB 3.0 port has remained. 4k60, everything else would remain the same as it's too soon for another new Novatek chipset to power the show

Think I kinda answered your question below haha. I don't think the RTC300 worked on the original A329, so the coaxial port would be the connection for the telephoto and waterproof for the A329S I'm gathering....
 
Yep, the RTC300 is USB-C for certain, I missed the A329S had coaxial ports. Coax does make for simply and easier wire pulls in a car, I will probably leave the old wiring in for future use though.
 
Found some more information. Advanced parking mode they claim - ultra-low power consumption of 0.2W, and a less than two second impact detection recording time.

Daum! That is impressive time and power usage. I will be interested to look at the main board and its components. The A229 Pro has a very well made main board, good soldering, good chip placement for the most part. I see a few areas where they could have used an IC holder to even the the surface placements of the chips for better cooling, but overall the A229 Pro board is a very well made board. Hope to see the same in the A329S.

Definitely leave the old wiring in, that's what I've done in my car, have a spare usb-c cable up front and a spare at the back too of my sedan. Helps a lot in these situations

This is a bummer compared to what Vantrue and 70mai are doing with cloud now. But Viofo has always had the best image quality and highest bitrate, so I'm willing to forgive them because I know they're a powerhouse to be reckoned with

I have a car battery that has 4 posts and I am seriously considering pulling in the wire through the firewall and putting in a dedicated fuse box for dash cams. Reasonably easy to do but will take some shade tree engineering to find a suitable place to put the secondary fuse box.

i would presume Viofo would be on top of this and taking all the feedback from the A329, and accounting for the increased heat generation with the A329S being three channel.

Not sure there will be more ventilation grilles, but we haven't seen views of the left side or other parts of the dashcam shell, but one can hope haha. Every little bit helps to be honest.
 
I have a love - hate relationship with Cloud services. I can see the benefit but I also see the nightmares that others are having with Cloud services on dash cams and other devices. At present, I am satisfied with the direction VIOFO takes with image quality and can do without Cloud services.

Go for it! You can never have enough dashcams and you can never have enough of a ridiculous setup. I'm still trying to finalise mine at the moment, where in time it should be the A229 Pro (two-channel with the Tele), A329 two channel, and Omni 4K wired to the 70mai battery pack and UP05 LTE kit.

Total overkill for sure haha !
