The VUEROiD S1 4K Infinite Has Arrived

Watching the processed video, the blurred box flickers on/off at times whilst following the car, and it also has difficulty when people walk between me and the other car.
I also saw similar behavior when I tested it.

we will check it . and try to find way improve it. (fliker on / off )
That would be nice!

After a few hours of test driving I finally caught up with a taxi with a yellow ID plate alongside the standard yellow licence plate.

AI privacy protection blurred both yellow plates, seen here in a 100% crop side-by-side.

It is nice to see that AI Privacy feature will cover the plates. The flicker and weak coverage has been previously given to Vueroid. I believe they are looking at ways to improve on it.

we can't cleary understaning what you point out , can you explain more for understanding .. thank in advance.

I don't know about the Vueroid, as I don't have one in hand for testing, but my statement was general. Dashcams that have a blinking light to show recording is very annoying. Either it should be a solid light or no light. Blinking light is distracting for drivers.

Yes, we’ve clearly understood your point, as it has been mentioned several times by testers and reviewers.
The perfect stealth mode is currently under internal discussion.
Our main concern is that when a customer enables stealth mode, any issue (such as with the cable, power input, or other factors) might go unnoticed in the early stages.
We believe this can be addressed by implementing sound notifications without using any LED indicators. This matter will be covered soon.

Thank you!

The alternate is a solid green light or red light that doesn't blink. Blinking lights are distracting. Of course, audio notification like Viofo uses is good, too.

The status LEDs on the front camera case [screen side] do not blink while in normal/driving mode.

You can turn off the status LEDs by disabling the "System > Alert > LED > Status LED" setting. Default is enabled.

If you want to disable the security LED on the front lens assembly you can disable the "System > Alert >LED > Security LED" setting. Default is enabled.

There's also a setting to disable the LEDs in parking mode as well "Off all LEDs in Parking Mode". Default is disabled.

The solid white LEDs is one of the features I like about the S1. They blink red to indicate something different is happening, otherwise it's a discreet notification that the dashcam is operating normally.

I will be sending you some video files to review soon, including this one.
Hi TonyM,

They will definitely be helpful for training, but the improvement will mainly apply to scenes similar to the one in the footage and to similar types of license plates.
We keep collecting data and training continuously.
We need as many video samples as possible under various conditions—more diverse than the data we’ve already used for training.
We also need to be cautious about overtraining, as it can sometimes lead to inferior accuracy.
One thing I can assure you is that this AI feature will continue to get better and better. It’s not only for the S1 4K but also for our future products to come.
It should be quite exciting to see its performance improving over time.

Have a good day~

Here is a rather lengthy test drive. I wanted to see how the lens and CMOS handled intense, direct sunlight. They both did quite well, in my view. There is the expected lens flare and ghosting, a few of which I think are dried water spots on the windshield.

Here are a few snapshots of passing vehicles and their license plates. In my opinion, the plate capture was very good. American license plates are tough to capture accurately to begin with. Virginia plates, with numerous special-interest logos, mixed colors, variable logo placement, and license plate frames that cover a portion of the plate, add to the difficulty. I have found it is better to lower the lens angle to better capture these license plates. I also prefer using HDR+IPC and 30FPS.

Here are the final images from Long Sunny Drive. Here, I am turning onto a secondary road that enters a subdivision and shopping area. The plate is captured on the Toyota SUV as I cross in front of it. Here is an instance of angle, speed, lighting, plate frame, and the yearly decal in the upper left corner of the plate causing an issue.

our team check the video clip you shared. we need more time and data to cover whole world. Current Ai privacy data is focused on North Ameria. We are collecting and training vehicle data for the European region. But it will tak some long time..

Another, long seven-minute into-the-sun drive; this time testing with a CPL. I am looking for changes in coloration, shading, light intensities, darkening, wavering in color and light, reflections, clarity, ghosting, and flares. Overall, the Vueroid S1 4K is doing an excellent job in handling all of these. Ghosting and flares are noticeable, but that is to be expected.

You can stop the video when cars are passing me and see the license plates quite well. When stopped at a traffic light, the approaching vehicles' plates are more difficult to read. I attribute some of that loss of definition to the CPL.
