My SSD is mounted down under the passenger side dash above the footwell and next to my Blackvue B130A battery. Did that both for stealth and also to reduce heat exposure. I would be concerned mounting any SSD on or close to the windshield due to the heat factor. I used this mount for my T7 Shield--a bit tight due to the extra rubber around the Shield, but holds well once in place. The original adhesive was inadequate so I switched to heavy duty Velcro instead:

SSD Mount

Two additional things: I could not find anything that would stick directly to the T7 Shield's rubbery casing, so that's why I used the mount. Also, I have 3 Shields (only one for this usage) and two suffer from the unfortunately common issue that many USB-C cables (including the original Samsung one) too loosely connect to the SSD. That is also true for the Viofo cable. I have two thick rubber bands criss-crossed over the SSD body and the angled USB cable head to keep it connected in the vehicle.

Originally this is what I was going for the T7 but I had this as a spare, https://www.amazon.ca/gp/B09QV5KJHVand for a case went with this, https://www.amazon.ca/gp/B0BW1XGH57hopefully this will work fine with the A329T but I do think hiding would be better just in case someone breaks in steals your cam might see who did it and have a chance to mess him up after

Please let us know how that SSD module and enclosure works for you, given that Viofo has even further narrowed their list of officially compatible SSDs. I think I saw someone else on here was at one point testing another SSD and enclosure but can't remember what their experience was.

I'm using the SanDisk Extreme 2TB SSD with the 2.5m VIOFO USB-C cable. The cable runs across the top of the windshield (under the headliner), down the A-pillar, and into the glovebox where the drive is stored. Haven't found any performance related issues, everything is working great.

This is temporary, mounted it to the windshield just want to keep a eye on it make sure that its recording the m.2 encloser has the little led light that blinks when in use or recording
the M.2 works great the encloser case too
but maybe in a week will hide it, but easy access to it

I've seen a few of those on Amazon lately, they look interesting! Tempted to pick one up to see how accurate it is. The ones I've seen so far display wattage.

yes 2 per pack https://www.amazon.ca/gp/B0DPRKB6LG tried the 2 and they read the same
in that pic that is .3 amps when 3 cameras running , just curious in what the m.2 power draw was
and only 15.00 Canadian = 5.00 American, just kidding

I have this one--seems fairly accurate, but I'm not trying to be any type of official tester. 😉
