I recently purchased the Viofo A229Pro and RTC300 telephoto cameras.

While I'm satisfied with the A229Pro's performance, I'm dissatisfied with the RTC300 telephoto camera's inaccurate focus.

I contacted Viofo, suspecting a defect, but they denied it.

Does my telephoto camera appear to be focusing accurately?

Focus may vary after a certain period of use. There are no ventilation holes.
However, I don't recommend using external HDR at night.
So, try disabling HDR and then try again. (Or, set the HDR auto setting to sunrise or sunset.)

Even if you turn off the HDR feature, the still license plate image is not clear.

Your first image shows some strange aberrations that I would not expect.

Can you park in front of a brick wall or similar uniform surface then take a screenshot of the video? That will help to assess if the focus and image quality vary across the video frame.

#여기서뵙는군요.

정상적인 망원이라면 이런 극한의 상황속에서 번호판도 포착해야하는데 아쉬운대처네요.

Add HDR off image
I went back to the same location at night and checked. Even with HDR turned off, the image wasn't in focus.

Is the resolution set to FHD? If so, select 2K. You misunderstood. HDR should be enabled at night and disabled during the day.

Naturally, I selected 2K resolution. The bitrate is also the highest quality. The focus is inaccurate in all environments, day or night, with HDR on or off. My camera seems to be defective.

And HDR needs to be turned on both day and night. If you turn it off during the day, the license plate won't be visible like this.

You might be right. The focus might be a bit off.

Unfortunately, the license plate might not be visible in this image due to the angle of the sun.

The license plate being visible in any frame throughout the video is sufficient.

I was just trying to offer advice on whether there's a simple solution.

My final tip: check the lens's cleanliness.

As I mentioned, this camera doesn't have ventilation holes. I experienced the same issue after extended use. These feedbacks, including the fact that a compatible telephoto camera for the A329 series has ventilation holes, are proof of this.

This suggests your suspicions may be justified.

You can review my feedback below from top to bottom.

Thank you for your insight. Focusing can be problematic depending on the temperature. Strangely, my camera has trouble focusing even in videos taken within 10 minutes of turning it on. My car is currently at 15 degrees outside and 20 degrees inside.

That's good news. How did you get in touch about this? Could you share some details?
I contacted AliExpress, the online shopping mall where I purchased the product, and sent a video to Viofo. Viofo reviewed the video and responded that they would confirm the details and send me a new product.
