Camera that can operate in high temperatures

Well, it worked fine for 3 years. Don't see how that's related to the device dying though.

Thanks. I'm keeping my options open. Not even sure it was the heat killed it since it died at night.

Oh, I doubt the two are related as well. I was just pointing out which SDXC cards are recommended. It is the luck of the draw when it comes to memory cards. Since you got 3 years out of that card, it gave you good service, no complaints. Some dashcam brands and models are more demanding on cards than others. The card you have there may have been made with a superior controller, but later SD manufacturing runs may have different controllers. This is quite common in the SD card business. Sometimes the cards sent to reviewers have a better controller than what is later released to users.

Oh. Thanks for the feedback. Back when I ordered the device, viofo benelux sent me a high endurance card which was explicitly listed as not compatible on viofo. I found out after the camera would lock up every time it filled up (instead of overwriting) and randomly during parking mode. I then got this card and all the issues went away.

Right now I'm considering 3 options:

1) get another A139 pro (currently with discount at around 250€). No rewiring required but old tech and lack of trust.

2) vueroid S1 4k. Much more expensive (around 480€) and full rewiring needed (will take me a day) but nice parking modes and low consumption in that mode

3) other brand/model (thinkware U3000?). Same rewiring issue and also relatively expensive but interesting parking modes.

:/

The A139 Pro has been discontinued as far as we're aware, so we can't guarantee what you might get for after-sales support, even if it is fully under warranty. We have no experience with the Vueroid S1 4K, but we can vouch for the BlackVue Elite 9/10 and Thinkware U3000/U3000 Pro as we have had plenty of experience with them.

The U3000 Pro would be our current pick if parking mode is a priority, since its radar system still allows for pre-impact buffered recording without sacrificing its energy efficiency (which, in turn, leads to lower operating temperatures and higher heat resistance).

The BlackVues would be ideal if you want a good warranty (they come with 2 years, which matches what VIOFO offers but no additional registration is required, vs. 1 year from Thinkware) and a high storage capacity (up to 1TB, vs. 512GB). The Elite 10 also has a 4K rear camera, although it lacks HDR unlike the 2K rear cameras of the U3000 Pro and Elite 9. However, the power-saving parking mode only triggers upon impact, although they do wake up and start recording very quickly as soon as the impact is detected.

you could also go for the lesser resolution vueroid system, i would personally do that CUZ 1440p is just fine for EU plates.

The parking guard camera i am most happy about, is mounted to my 2 floor balcony door.
In the back yard, even if now there is a always on LED light there at night, it would be hard to get a identifying shot of a thief / vandal, the new 1440p CCTV camera zoomed in optically stand a much better chance.
Also it give me instant notifications from the AI motion detect so anything human or vehicles shaped + it would seem magpie set off motion detect. cats - rats and what not else scurring about back there no problem.

Truthfully, I am fond of the @VUEROiD products after having tested a handful of the S1-4K and the S1-QHD. Other testers and I have reported astonishingly good results for heat durability and parking recording on high-heat days. It is a premier dashcam, and with three channels, it is priced at the same value as other premier-priced dashcams.

I know it's a pain to pull in new wiring. I have 5 dashcams mounted in my car from 3 different brands. I think, though, that once you have the Vueroid S1-4K or the S1-QHD (see the reviews), you will stick with this dashcam for 3 or more years. The reliability rate is high; the return rate for defects is well below extremely low. I have had the S1-4K and S1-QHD completely disassemble, and they are very well-made boards.

We'll also put the BlackVue Elite 8 out here as another option. It's basically the same as the Elite 9, with dual HDR and all the same functionality, but both cameras are 2K and we find that it does a pretty good job of capturing the details that matter most.

Can you post a photo of the card?
Just curious.
When I said "fried" I was referring to the dashcam, not the card. Card seems fine.
In 2019 there were (4) different SD Cards on the “Official VIOFO Recommended List”.
As more powerful models were released the list shrank to (3), and now (2).
In 2022, and 2023 SanDisk Extreme was on the official VIOFO recommended list.
When A229 Pro & A229 Plus were released September 2023 SanDisk Extreme was removed from the recommended list.
SEE HERE

Over the past year A139 Pro owners have reported malfunctions of their out of warranty units on DCT.
Each time after trying to diagnose the malfunction, as a last resort I suggest SUBMIT A TICKET to see if VIOFO can do anything for an out of warranty claim.
Sometimes they offer to send a replacement unit for “a small shipping fee”.
If they reply with a similar offer I would take it, and use it as a back up / auxiliary camera.

Trying to locate a vueroid dealer inside the EU right now.
Hi~

[ I deleted the link since it doesn't lead to where I intended ]
Go to any Vueroid S1 product and click the FAQ (8th Row) on the VUEROID website.
Among the SD cards referenced by Vueroid, SanDisk Extreme is included.

While SanDisk Extreme may not be considered ideal specifically for dashcam use, please note that based on our testing and validation, there are no issues with using it.
Personally, from an application standpoint, I believe High Endurance is more suitable.
SD cards of a higher grade, such as SanDisk Max Endurance, are naturally supported as well; however, they were excluded from the list due to cost concerns.

While reliability is the most crucial factor for any dashcam, which makes using a robust SD card highly recommended, Vueroid products like the VUEROID S1 4K Infinite utilize our proprietary dashcam-dedicated file system called TFF(Three Free Filesystem). Compared to a standard FAT file system, this significantly reduces the wear and load on the SD card—a key factor that shouldn't be overlooked.

TFF (Format Free, Crush Free, Fragmentation Free)
- Free of Manual Maintenance (User Experience: Zero-Format, Effortless Operation)
- Free of Data Corruption & Loss (Data Integrity: 100% Video Preservation in Critical Accidents)
- Free of Memory Wear (Hardware Reliability: Maximized SD Card Endurance & Lifespan)

Additionally, please be aware that if you order an SD card together with products such as the Vueroid S1 4K Infinite or Vueroid S1 QHD Infinite, you can purchase genuine Vueroid SD cards at a more reasonable price.
The discount event is scheduled to start on the official website in 6 hours.
For information regarding our European partners, please refer to the "Find a Store" section on our website.

Have a good day~
