Did these steps and looks like I haven't gotten a gap yet, thanks :)
Did they explain why they removed the beep beep warnings? Seems like important information to tell the user.
The current card is a 128GB Samsung PRO Endurance that I last formatted 3 months ago. Tested it just now with CrystalDiskMark and the sequential performance is 97MB/s read and 45MB/s write.
I doubt the card is the culprit, but I will order a 128GB SanDisk Max Endurance and see if that improves...
I just noticed the gap now that something happened to occur within that gap - so I don't have the footage. It seems to produce the gap every ~6 files on average (2 min per file for me).
You can tell it's happening if you note down the starting timestamp of a (long?) drive and compare it...
Ah, yes.
The files are usually 647MiB (5 minutes long) but in one instance there ended up being:
218MiB file -> 16 second gap -> 35MiB file -> 12 second gap -> a regular 647MiB file
Later on during that same drive, I also see a 624MiB file and a 21 second gap before the beginning of the next...
The counter on the top right corner was at less than 10 seconds, so conceivably it coincides.
What does the beep mean when it happens at a file change point?
I did hear a single random beep (twice) last night which sounded like it came from the camera. I woke up the screen and everything seems normal - it's still recording. Do you know what a single quick beep would be trying to indicate? One thought is perhaps a strong enough bump triggered the...
I see that the included power supply is rated at 5V 1A, and my Anker adapter is rated at 5V 2.4A per port (for the non-QC center ports that I'm using).
I also used a USB power meter and the dash cam is only drawing a max of 5V 0.7A, well within the capacity of either adapter.
But anyway, will...
I use this:
What is the 12V supply and how does that work? It doesn't seem like the camera has any way to input 12V, so it ends up becoming 5V still before reaching the camera, right?
Also, when I checked through the settings after all this had happened, it was clear that all the settings had reset at some point.
50Hz instead of 60Hz, 3 minute file length, G-Sensor setting was no longer Off, logo was added to the video, etc.
Hi all, I received the replacement front camera and swapped them out last Friday.
1) I have checked up on what it has recorded so far and the time reset issue still happens.
Out of 20 power off/on cycles during regular parking/driving, it has reset its clock back to 01/01/2018 four times...
Thanks for helping out jokiin! Curious though, even if the cam's clock didn't reset as often, isn't it still a reality that it will sometimes reset? Perhaps after being unpowered for a long time.. I think my #2 point is a valuable feature to have and would avoid needing to replace the camera.
