On a windows machine displaying details it is as simple as right clicking on the bar that says the file name and type etc. and selecting Attributes (it could be under the more button). Protected files will now show as RA, and can be sorted or grouped easily.

Changing the name back to the original REC_ should fix the problem. You could test some older firmware versions if having the files labeled differently is important to you.

Have you by chance changed the file name from REC_ to something else? It was reported that when changed files will no lock.

Finally updated the firmware, and the problem of unreliable MD persists. I believe the battery is the problem. I occasionally get run times of no more than 30-45 minutes despite the battery led flashing three times before going completely flat.

The mobius case has four lanyard points built into it. I find usb lanyards with the quick release clip work pretty well for tethering and allow easy removal.

I'm glad your wife is ok. Could it be that the camera wasn't recording prior to the accident due to a loose power supply, and the impact from the accident jostled the power supply enough to momentarily record the aftermath?

With motion detect after power off set to 15 seconds, I get an average of 3 hours total run time, but can't recall the average number of clips recorded as I lost my notes. :(

Was that the melkin action cam? It looks identical to a Mobius but has melkin printed on the case, comes in a few different colours and the specs are different.

I have now run my mobius flat using motion detect after power off multiple times a day for at least 20 days and it works as it should. It reverts to mode 2 when the car is started and has never lost the date or time from running the battery flat using motion detect.
