You can also try recording with the camera outside of the car to see if it is the camera that is causing the issue, or damage/streaking on the windshield. I use a USB power bank to try this.

Try the RESET pin hole on the side of the camera. If that doesn't help sometimes little issues like this are caused by low spec/incompatible memory card. Try another card. If it doesn't go away or recurs with a reset and new memory card I'd recommend returning the cam.

In general I don't support giving my SD card, or even telling police that I have a camera in my car, as they could THEORETICALLY take the card and look through it and find incriminating evidence against me. I would rather review clips and send them in on my own time.
