    How To Connect To DR650GW-2CH?

I think you're missing a digit, the default IP address should be 192.168.8.1

    Change Camera Recording Name

Try changing the Wifi SSID in settings, I've never tried it but that's the only place it seems you could change the name. Other than that might be possible to add a line to the config file and do a firmware install.

    Glitched Files

Try a different brand SD card and see if you still have the same issue.

Date/Time is incorrect... how to fix?

I don't think it uses GPS for time setting. Download and install this utility from Blackvue on a PC, run it and set the time on your SD card then go install in your Blackvue and boot it up right away: https://www.blackvue.com/download/time-setting-program/ Read the notes on the download page...

    Newbie Questions

https://www.blackvue.com/download/dr650s-2ch-manual-english/ I don't recommend upgrading the firmware unless you are having problems with the unit. This forum is filled with people who have problems AFTER upgrading (myself included). Try formatting the card in the unit before considering upgrading.

    Please Check SD Card

Usually really large capacity cards need to be formatted using the Blackview itself. With the card installed and powered on hold down the wi-fi on/off button for 10 seconds or until you hear beeps (can't remember exactly how many but you'll know it when you hear it). It will format the card and...

    "Dead" camera - no lights...

If no lights how do you know it has power? Do you hear any of the audible notifications? I would suggest trying a different SD card but even with no card you usually still have lights and audible sounds. You should test your power supply to be 100% certain that it is receiving power (best way...

About to purchase - need some info

It's subtle and hard to describe but basically image noise, just not as easy as you would expect to read license plates, etc.. The video quality from my DR380 and DR500 were better than the DR650, so much so that I thought there was something wrong with my brand new DR650 when I first got it...

About to purchase - need some info

The video quality of the DR650 is not the greatest. It's pretty good, but there are other dashcams on the market that are better. I like the DR650 because of the form factor and the software tying it all together with the 2 channels but the video quality has been frustrating as hell. I bought my...

    Blackvue DR650 VOICE alarms problem

Dream-seller on ebay? That's who I bought mine from, they claim to be an authorized Blackvue dealer. They responded to a firmware issue I was having but ended up not having the fix. If that's the seller you used I would keep emailing them until you get a response.

    Blackvue DR650 VOICE alarms problem

I don't think firmware would make any difference, it sounds to me from your video that the speaker has blown. If it's less than 12 months old I would assume the warranty covers it. I've emailed Blackvue about a few software issues in the past and never received a response either. Your best bet...

    Blackvue DR650 VOICE alarms problem

Well if you have the volume cranked all the way up and it's still hard to hear then I don't know what the cause is. My second guess would be maybe the speaker went bad, hard to say. Make sure it's not covered up or plugged with anything.

    Blackvue DR650 VOICE alarms problem

Yes assuming you're using a MicroSD card adapter and plugging it into your USB port, the Blackvue.exe application is stored on the card itself. You can find viewers for both Mac and Windows in the \BlackVue\Application\ directory. Run it right from the card, no need to install anything. I think...

    Blackvue DR650 VOICE alarms problem

The volume adjustments are in the application configuration "Wi-Fi & ETC Setting" page (see attached pic), this will set the volume and whether or not the voice alarm is in use when the DR650 is started. I find this easier to configure plugging the micro SD into my PC and running the full...

Is there a way to record longer than 1 minute segments?

Go into the configuration settings in the Blackvue app and you can change the recording length to 1, 2, or 3 minutes both for normal recording and event recording. I think 3 is the max but can't check at the moment.

unable to go back to original firmware after installed latest custom v2.002

I used this procedure to downgrade from 1.007 to 1.004 (my rear camera stopped working when I upgraded to 1.007), I couldn't get it to work either until I changed the version to 1.007 in the version.bin file. I originally tried changing it to 1.005 thinking that one number up would work but I...

unable to go back to original firmware after installed latest custom v2.002

You need to edit the "version.bin" file located in the Config directory [:\Blackvue\Config\version.bin] of the 1.009 firmware folder that you want to install in order to get your Blackvue to downgrade. Open version.bin in a text editor and change the version number from 1.009 to 2.002 then...

    Using 128GB microsd in DR650GW-2CH

SLC and MLC stand for Single-level cell and multi-level cell respectively. Here is a good thread to read in a Sandisk forum that discusses the differences at length. However considering the heat these units generate I'm not sure I agree with Pittasoft's recommendation of MLC, it has better...

Blackvue firmware and SD card issues

What do you mean "won't accept it"? What is the error message, do you hear an audible "Check the SD card" or something like that? I've found with larger capacity cards the only way to format is in the Blackvue unit, i.e. you can't format on your computer and expect it to work. Format it by...

    More problems: Options?

This is my 4th Blackvue (400, 380, 500, and now 650), I've been pretty unhappy with the video quality from my 650. It's OK but not nearly as good as my DR500 or even my DR380 which I was using for a rearward facing camera. I'm hoping they come out with a new 2ch model in the near future so I can...
