Hawkeye Firefly 8S 4k (Coming soon!)

I think that the people are mostly unsatisfied with the blown highlights which the camera produces on normal exposure setting. I did some testing with it and found that EV -1.3 was giving the best results on bright sunlight (see my channel), but that comes with a cost for shadow details. Many...

Hawkeye Firefly 8S 4k (Coming soon!)

Tjenare, Yes, it can record while powered from an external power source as long as the battery is removed first. And yes, there are no dropped frames (nor extra like Firefly 7s has), at least when loop recoding mode is used (max length is 5 mins, haven't tested without the loop mode). For...

    No doubt.

    GitUp Git2 Firmware

I don't doubt that, but for instance how many microphone adapters you will find with 10-pin micro USB connector? That's why I would say it's practically useless, because of the non-standard implementation. Unless you are a dominant market player, like Apple, which Gitup by far isn't.

    GitUp Git2 Firmware

Micro USB uses 5 pins by the standard. If you would implement 10 pin normal size non-standard micro USB connector it would be practically impossible to find any adapters or devices which would use this kind of pin 10 layout, unless you would start to manufacture them by yourself.

Hawkeye Firefly 8S 4k (Coming soon!)

If it's any help I can assure you it shares the exact same form factor with Git2.

Hawkeye Firefly 8S 4k (Coming soon!)

New 4K test video, now with chest mount. Forgot to warm up the casing before recording hence there's cloudy image at the beginning of the video. It will clear up gradually as the air is vented trough the back door. Also forgot to decrease the exposure setting and the sky is heavily over-exposed...

HawKeye Firefly 8s 4K action cam review.

Good review, keep it up! However, there's always room for an improvement and like pretty much all the other reviewers on Youtube, you didn't really put it trough on any demanding tests for an ACTION camera. First, to get real picture of the video quality, you need to run it in a fast changing...

Hawkeye Firefly 8S 4k (Coming soon!)

I did some more testing with 2.5k@60fps and 2.7K@30fps. 60fps reduced the rolling shutter effect significantly but it's still there on fast panning. Much better nevertheless. However, 2.7K@30fps is pretty much par with 4K. If I remember correct the default metering is "Multi Spot", at least...

Hawkeye Firefly 8S 4k (Coming soon!)

Yes I know all CMOS sensors have rolling shutter but in some implementations it's just much less noticeable than others. Like I said, haven't noticed it on Git2 and Firefly 7s, I also would say that GoPro does it better with Hero 4 and 5. Of course one reason why it's so evident here is the...

Hawkeye Firefly 8S 4k (Coming soon!)

Received the 90 degree version yesterday, updated the latest V42 firmware and noticed that the camera has horrible rolling shutter effect (vertical jelloing). Not as horrible as I had on my Nokia 1020 for instance but for a something that's supposed to work as action camera that's pretty lame...

Unable to fully charge Git2 battery

No, not really but it still amazes me how no-one here seems to recognise the most obvious as the Git2's fault able to charge by itself has become pretty well known issue by now: http://www.gitup.com/forum/index.php?threads/gitup-git2-battery-never-fully-charged.305/page-2

Unable to fully charge Git2 battery

As it has been testified here there's nothing wrong with your camera - it's either your cable, your charger or you are just not doing it right. Try again ad infinitum.

Unable to fully charge Git2 battery

Of course there are cables which have lower resistance and can conduct more current, but the thing is that even high resistance cables (bad quality or very long) can usually conduct sufficient amount of current, it just affects to the charging time. Surely there are devices which do not accept...

Unable to fully charge Git2 battery

Lol. So you think it is likely that all the people in the thread complaining about Git2 not charging have underpowered chargers or do not know how to charge their electronic devices correctly?

Unable to fully charge Git2 battery

I believe that a camera which has less than 1000mAh battery should never require more than 1.0A charging current, heck even phones with two to three times bigger batteries charge well with 1.0A chargers. My first Git2 was charging completely ok with 1.5A powerbank and with well build Anker 4...

i got the solution for all the problems

As this was already talked in another thread I hope Git3 comes with high quality bitrate as well like all the other high quality action cameras on market today (GoPro, Sony, Yi 4K), otherwise it'll be basically just some niche dashcam for low light conditions and drone people.

    bitrate settings

Of course the compression quality depends on the used method but there's no way you can substitute processing power with any method. The fact is that inherently small sized video cameras cannot never compete with raw processing power of desktop or cloud based computers simply because of laws of...

    bitrate settings

Not a bad choice, you get very versatile camera and 60Mbps which is more than good still. However you might want to reconsider if you watch some reviews on Sony in Youtube ;)
