    Recovering last unbuffered video clip.

It was in mp4 format. The file has all the remaining footage I was missing. It was in the RO directory.

Thank you for the tip! I found the file using a recovery utility - Recuva.

    Recovering last unbuffered video clip.

I have been using Viofo cameras for some time and upgraded to an A119 V3 a couple months ago. The unit has performed flawlessly and records with fantastic resolution. However, this past weekend someone egregiously hit me while traveling at freeway speeds. My A119 V3 captured everything except...

Mini 0805 Getting Hot, then Shutting Down

I purchased several and all died within months of use. Seems to be a very common problem.

Think my installer installed my magic pro box wrong

Sorry, don't own a BMW car and don't use parking mode.

Cute girls, and then the BMW turn up

"That brand of car, and the people that drive it". Perhaps says more about Street Guardian dashcam users than anything else. Please let us know when you drive by another cute girl.

CANBUS. I have multiple devices wired directly to the battery of my BMW and have no CANBUS ill-effects.

need a new helmet cam, not sure where to start

Not what the OP asked about, but there's this too. https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/strange-motion-artifacts.6784/#post-80892 https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/where-did-you-mount-the-camera-post-your-pictures.502/page-31#post-180325

need a new helmet cam, not sure where to start

Never tried it submerged in water so I can't say for certain. My setup has held up for the better part of 5 years w/o issues.

need a new helmet cam, not sure where to start

Several of the compact Sony action cameras would be my recommendation. They come with helmet mounts or can easily be adapted to use the huge selection of gopro mounts. They'll also run off of an external USB power source, which is how I use mine - good for 12+ hrs with a compact battery pack...

    Recording when connected to PC

You can use a charging-only USB cable, but you'll need to switch cables if you want mass storage or webcam mode operation. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-a-USB-no-data-charger-cable/

    Viofo A119S V2 or Street Guardian V3?

Very happy with my A119s too but need to put some time on it. As mentioned, SG support here is top notch. VIOFO is good too - best to buy from a recommended vendor (OCD Tronic in my case).

    USA SOLD. FS: VIOFO WR1

Thanks Phil. The only "glitch" to be aware of is that you'll need to format the SD card before inserting it into the camera (use the VIOFO utility or official SD card format utility). If you don't need to use the "live view" WiFi features or change any of the default settings, the camera will...

    USA SOLD. FS: VIOFO WR1

Thanks for sharing your insights in my FS thread. As a WR1 owner, you're likely aware the camera works well. I have enough others that I can use for the time being, including the A119S.

    Dash camera charger reviews.

2A and you are good to go. No need for IQ charging for any dash cam. IMO the biggest source of problems with dash cams arises from folks using cigarette lighter USB adapters. I've seen many cars where the adapters don't fit tightly and this causes intermittent connection problems. Best to...

    Dash camera charger reviews.

Big difference between charging a cell phone (that might support rapid charging) and supplying 5v to power a dash cam. Any cheap "usb charger" that can supply 2A will be more than adequate for your dash cam IMO.

Hard-wire Install (frustrated - throwing in the towel)

The Amazon regulator contains one LM7805 voltage regulator and two capacitors. The other device appears to be a DC-to-DC switching power supply. Not only is the latter over kill for the application, it's capable of generating lots of RF, which is something you definitely don't want in your car.
