Yep, sounds normal on both counts. TLC NAND flash memory doesn't handle the heat well and the cards fail into a read-only status. I've had two cards do that now. Recommend using industrial grade MLC NAND flash memory cards. As for the new Lexar 633x -- as documented in various other posts...

Formatting a card isn't going to break it. Using a TLC NAND card in a dash cam likely will kill the card in time due to heat, particularly if you park outside in full sunshine with parking mode enabled. I've so far killed two TLC cards and won't waste money on another.

*shrug* v1.08 and v1.10 have worked just fine on my windows 10 PC. The only trouble I've had was v1.09 on my macs. v1.10 fixed that crash-at-startup problem.

Pull v1.08 from your microSD card that's in the camera. Alternately download camera firmward v1.006 and extract the viewer software from the folder structure. I'll give the v1.10 viewer a try tonight.

Have you metered the constant and acc power sources to verify? I ask since the behavior you're seeing is similar to when power and acc are wired backwards.
