I received my camera yesterday (Friday) so I have opened it this morning, stuck the pad to the base, took it to the van, plugged in the charger to the camera and cigar socket switched it on and I have a constant beeping from it with the blue and red lights illuminated, the on off and all other buttons don’t seem to respond. I suppose the battery will drain soon, anyone any ideas what this is? (could only happen to me!) TIA

Bill

And it's got really hot in the process.

Further to the above, after a while the camera switched off when the battery ran out, similar to this post https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/dead-hung-unit-theory.11694/ It has worked well since using the cigar socket power method. I got the hardwire kit as well but need to know whether to connect to a permanent live or a switched one (cigar supply for example) as I may want to use the motion detection in the future. as I understand it the permanant method means it will record 24/7, need to do a bit more reading on this.

If you wire it into the fusebox using a piggyback fuse tap then you can easily move it to a permanent live later if the need arises.
