Hi, I bought one through amazon.ca, the version is sg20151109.v2. I believe it is the real thing.
Is it normal that there is only one resolution available, the 1080FHD?
(My older cam, $100 A118 had a few choices including 720P60 which I really want to try out on the new cam..)

That's correct, the camera is fixed to only use the highest maximum quality possible.

Curious, what reason would you want to use a lower resolution?

It's better to buy a larger card rather than lower the resolution. You can go up to 200GB.

15Mbps
32GB = 4-5 hours
64GB = 9-10 hours
128GB = 19 hours
200GB = 30 hours

Welcome to DCT forum !
Most daschams from this class which are based on present and previous Novatek processors ( incl. A118 ) they have 720/60fps double-frame FPS, so in reality it is 720p/30Fps.
May I ask why you need a lower resolution ?

It's also more costly. I would say giving the customers the choice would not be that bad?

But is there a (technical) reason for not offering lower res?

This is a premium product, full HD quality is the best performance and large memory cards are supported. If someone wants 720P this probably isn't the product for them.
