"High Pitched Buzz
Some owners have indicated that there is an occasional high pitched buzzing noise when recording. This does not happen always and not all owners have indicated this problem. It may be a result of the rear camera or cables being too close to car antenna or other objects emitting interference."

I haven't experienced this being an issue, and don't recall any reports on this buzz. One customer recently called me to ask about it. After talking further they said they would try a noise filter. It worked! (see below) Here is the follow up email I just received tonight.

Thoughts/Other suggestions?

Jon,

Here are a few videos of the high pitch sound on the X2 that I was telling you about earlier.

I was impressed by the sound in this video. Good mic in the camera.

Here are a few videos after installing a noise filter. I used the Browning 15 amp noise filter. It's big but it seems to be made well. I just connected the wire from the camera labeled "battery" to the yellow wire on the noise filter, and I connected the red wire on the noise filter to the power source (in my case the fuse panel), and connected the black wire to the ground. I got the noise filter from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/B004PGMFGW

Also, after watching the videos again, the lag on the MPH for the GPS is a little less with the new GPS with the X2, and it seems that my prior dashcams also had a little bit of lag.

Thanks for sending that GPS so quickly and for adding the micro SD card adapters.

You can send/post these videos to anyone to let them know about the sound I was talking about.

Thanks,

Customer followed up:

"I probably should have mentioned "volume warning" or whatever on the driving videos with the stereo. Also, sorry the windshield wasn't very clean on the videos after the noise filter install.

Anyway, here is a video after the noise filter install, with no stereo. The high pitch noise is there a little bit, but it's definitely not as piercing as before the noise filter install.

Take care."

"If a filter fixed it then that's often an install problem that he's fixed rather than a product problem, ground loops are usually install related "
