Good news, I installed firmware 1.5 beta and changed the battery (after the other run out at 6 minutes with 1.5 beta).

It's recording continually.

Can you elaborate on what you mean, continually? Does this mean there is no missing 1-2 seconds of footage between 4GB files in the 1.5 beta firmware?

It still have missing 1-2 seconds footage.

You still need to use loop recording if you want zero missing frames between segments.

Hmm, I'm not quite sure I understand the logic there, but I'll test it out I guess.

I was under the impression that enabling loop recording is specifically for overwriting files when the SD card is full. Why would enabling loop recording change the behavior of how the git2 splits files every 4GB?

I think it is fact rather than logic, if everything worked perfectly then there would be no lost frames in either case, but the processor and firmware were developed for use in dashcams so the dashcam features generally work very well while the action cam features are still being improved.

because it wouldn't create 4gb files, 4gb files are a size limitation, when you set loop on it will have a predetermined file length and it can manage that no problem
