It could be your playback that is not smooth. Or as it is winter, if it is also cloudy then maybe you don't have enough daylight and it is dropping to 30fps?But when i look with fast head movements i feel like it loses its smoothness (60fps daylight).
The main question is, does the Git2 will never be able of a better low light performance because of its pixel size? No mattering the firmware/card/bitrate?
So, this "force" us to change to a brand with bigger pixels for low light?
They are both 12MP, they will do a little better than the Git2 in the winter, the Git2 will do better in the summer.I don't know the size (in MP) of the Sony / GoPro sensors. But if they are smaller than 16 Mpix and can give good low light image quality, then that's the way to go.
Not published yet, it is still in development so the specification is not yet fully known even to Gitup.I don't know if the Git3 specifications has been published, i guess it will be better than the Git2 and that's is why i'm considering it.
Maybe the Git3 will manage that very hard trick?bigger pixels does make a difference, if low light is a consideration then a 1080p camera with a 2mp sensor like the Git1 is going to be a lot more suitable for that situation, very hard to get the best of both worlds out of the one product

But with auto shutter speed there will be looks like a fps drop because camera can set 1\30 even in 1080p60 mode.
As for action camera I would like to have real fps without any drops. Camera must record the video with the shutter speed and fps according to selected fps mode.normal process in low light is they'll either drop to 30fps or start frame doubling at 60fps
Then it will also have a bigger housing to go with the bigger lens that the bigger sensor will require. And it'll probably have a bigger battery to help feed the bigger current draw of that sensor and new cpu capable of handling the bigger load. Noticing a bigger trend in what I'm saying here? πI hope this time for the git3, gitup will understand that a action cam is more for video than for photo!!! no need those 16mp . 8mp is more than enougth for 4k video and 4k photo. abigger sensor will be a must also

I've enjoyed using the Git2 for photos more than for video! Photos are a great way to record your life, easy to store, easy to access, easy to display, easy to publish, and Git2 16MP photos can look fantastic. 3D 360 degree 8K video might be fun to play with but it has it's disadvantages!I hope this time for the git3, gitup will understand that a action cam is more for video than for photo!!! ...
An 8MP 4:3 sensor is not enough for 4K gyro stabilised video. 4K 16:9 video is 8MP, to get 8MP at 16:9 from a 4:3 sensor you need a 12MP sensor, then to give enough room around the borders for the gyro stabilisation to do a decent job you need a 16MP sensor and if you want your gyro stabilisation to include horizon levelling over full 360 degree rolls then you need a 26MP 4:3 sensor without gyro stabilisation or around 32MP with gyro stabilisation....no need those 16mp . 8mp is more than enougth for 4k video and 4k photo. abigger sensor will be a must also
