This was my yesterday experience when I was testing Mobius B-lens new FW v1.20

You will see from video 6sec cat running away across the street and 1-2 sec later some dog chasing the cat.
Dog was practically 1cm from hitting my car bumper.
Thank God no accident happened.

Owner of a dog apologised later by waving hand politely for his pet going out of control. I was OK with that, - most important dog is alive and nothing happened !

That was lucky day for dog and happy ending for me as well. Otherwise I could not sleep I guess.

Good job niko!

in the late 1970s, I killed a beautiful giant Saint Barnard that crossed in front as I was turning into a blind corner.....40 years later, it still makes me sad.
Since then I've saved many cats, dogs (& 1 bird)...probably to make up for that event.

Glad for u & the animals that they weren't hurt. The owners of both animals should be dealt with for their negligence....out here, it's a ticketable offense to walk a dog off leash.

niko, did you switch headlights from low beam to high at any point in that video?

Yes, 13, 18, 23 sec I switch high beam lights on.
This is the only sweet-spot in my area where I can test so called pitch-dark scenario. All other places are full of street lights. So I always use that spot to test pitch dark with low and high beam light.
Video flickering is Mobius v1.20 firmware issue we discussing in THIS thread. It's seams to be common for many people.
I have full 15 min flickering video from night test HERE.

My friend once hit a dog at night, he was dooing well over 100 km/h in his saab 99.
The strange part is he had his own dog sitting in the rear seat, and some how it must have seen or smelled what happened, cuz the moment my friend got out of the car to see if there was anything left his own dog started to make sounds he have never heard from it before or after that night.

There was nothing left of the dog, not even a leash on the main lump of blood and bones, the saab needed no bodywork as the dog hit the car below the bumper, and it was a beaten up old car even before that.

Myself i have hit 2 amimals in all the time i have been driving, first i hit a huge badger one morning driving home from work. ( it took the front spoiler on my opel 1.6 GT with it )
I dident bother stopping to look, i was dooing well over the 80 km/h that was allowed on the rural road, and the sound and feeling of my front spoiler and the badger compacting under my car was enuff to know there would be nothing to save.

Some weeks later allso around 04:30 in the morning when i got off Work i hit a Owl on the motorway dooing 160 km/h.

It hit the upper right corner of my windscreen hard and then bounced off onto my radio antenna, the antenna allmost looked like when some cartoon animal hit somthing and it shape itself after the outline of the animal.
I did not fine anything from the owl apart from some feathers on my antenna.

I have allso dodged a couple of amimals in the past 30 years, birds - rabbits - cats - 1 dog - a couple of deer.

I have allso stopped to finish off a cat that was hit by the car infront of me ( witch dident bother to stop )
Quite disgusting to do, but i cant just drive past a animal in agony, and pretend like nothing happened.
