So after a long time head banging

I have come up with either the blackvue
500 with wifi
Or the dod

One will be for my work van and the other in our family car

Why do guys think
Has black vue got there act together after the 400

Thanks for your input

you didn't mention which DOD model but I'd assume you're looking at one of the newer released models, far better option than the Blackvue I feel

The dod I am edging away from due to size
The blackvue is discreet but
Just concerned about reliability
After the 400
The dod not so
And yes mate you are right the newer models 2013
Just something robust and Mac friendly that has to be the biggest feature

Mac friendly can be a challenge, the Blackvue design I really like, very nice, you really need unofficial firmware to get acceptable performance from it though, in standard trim it's very poor

2 cameras. At around 4-500 a pop
They got be goodish

Taking a drive to down the i5 in California in a few weeks so really
They have to stand the heat

What do you have in your dash ?

They'd want to be very goodish for that kind of money, I'm not sure in the current market that $500 camera (is there a $500 camera??) gets you $300 better results than a $200 camera does, there's a lot happening in the market right now and better product is coming all the time, not in time for your roadtrip though

Aside from working in the heat what other criteria do you have, what features are a must have, what would you like to have etc etc??? The more specific you can be the more suitable recommendations you're likely to get

What I have in my dash won't help you as that changes often depending on what I'm working on, most often, as is the case now it's something that's coming rather than something you can get right now

Most important
Has to be discreet
After all do not really want my Windscreen popped

GPS and night vision is a plus

Speed is a whatever

After a manger flop with the teye ADR
I brought about a year and still can't the d thing to work :(

Mac friendly is a biggie

If you are looking for GPS and Mac friendly, the BlackVue DR500W-HD is the only one that I am aware of. Just be aware of the pixelation problem before purchasing. If the picture quality is not up to what you like, pick up the DOD...i am assuming it is the LS300W that you are talking about.

Yes sir
Dash man
I pulled the trigger on the blackvue should be here today ,
Thank you for your input , will let you know how I get on :)
