OK! It was in the mail this morning. I inserted it, the camera formatted it, and it has not beeped once to day. I mailed the bad one back.

Interestingly, the settings were retained. My plate number was still displayed. Is this intended?

settings are stored in the camera not on the card like some Korean cameras do, changing the card won't alter any of your settings
