What a load of unreliable, expensive rubbish.
Week three. Just how many times do I have to format the card ? Every time I power up? Once a day/week ? I give up. Started off with a Samsung 32gb card.....format problems. So, purchased from Amazon a recommended 32gb Sandisc on here...class 10 etc etc.
Hooked up to my PC, it was already updated.
Now, just arrived home from the North.....looked at the thing in my drive and it was not recording....in fact it shows that it froze at 1.50pm.....four hours ago.....what total crap.
Would I recommend this rubbish? Not in a million years.

Probably an incorrect but recommended SanDisk Ultra ?

Yes, I know what you are going through. I'm on my second 512GW because of focus problems. I bought the samsung 128GB evo plus. Not much joy with that card, freezing, not recording on a dual cam setup. I was ready to return it. But nextbase support is very good, the technician said to get a MLC type SD card so ordered this: https://www.mymemory.co.uk/integral-64gb-high-endurance-micro-sd-card-sdxc-adapter-95mb-s.html Seems to be working OK after a reset, return to default and in cam format.

You can read on amazon, problems people have had for just about every make of dashcam making it so hard to make an informed choice.

There's a chance the card (even bought from amazon) could be fake, or just unluckily faulty

As for the cam, if that turns out to be faulty, let the retailer sort it, if the replacement works like it should, you won't be disappointed at what the cam actually has to offer

Thanks, now that I've calmed down a bit, (G+T), it seems that I now need to invest in a further, relatively expensive, High Endurance card. Ah well, what price insurance/accident safety !

I will repeat what I've experienced with mine.

I use SanDisk SD cards class 10 purchased from Tesco and have had no issues at all and I rarely format my card at all. Apart from the odd time I copy the files onto my pc then format the card when I put it back in.

What size of card have you got? I know it's a different make but could be compatibility problems with the 128gb Samsung evo plus I was using.

I had a 32gb initially, then stuck a 64gb in it, after the rear camera release I changed it to a 128gb card.

128gb SanDisk ultra class 10 purchased from Tesco. All my cards have come from Tesco.

I bought a 128gb card online and its useless and slow, warnings come up in most devices I have tried it in.

I you use any card that is not a 'High Endurance' card, then this voids the warranty of the SD card, as they are not designed for contant dashcam use.
This is specifically stated in most card manufacturer's websites.
(regardless of what Halfords or Nextbase appear to be saying on their website).

You can buy a brand new card from a high street store, put it in your dashcam and have no issues - but it will reduce the card's lifespan by 10x and will eventually ruin the card. There is no comeback on the retailer or the manufacturer.

High Endurance cards are designed for constant use, and are designed for dash cams and most come with 5 years warranty for it too.

I would have thought that unless it stated clearly on the packaging, that a card was not suitable for dash cams, they could not say it voids the warranty if the card has been used in a dash cam. Just stating it on a website would probably be against the unfair terms and conditions rules under UK/EU legislation.
