After over two months of daily use, it’s time to share my full review of the 70mai Omni 4K, also known as the X800. I’ve been using this camera daily with constant driving, mixed weather conditions, and a hardwired parking mode installation using the official battery pack.
My main interest going in was the unique design, the 4K lens with 360° rotation, and most importantly, how well the cloud functionality holds up in everyday use.
Build Quality & Installation
The camera itself has a solid build. The mounting method is simple and secure, with a simple twist of the body, it can be removed from the car. In the time I tested the Omni 4k, I did not experience any overheating issues during extended sun exposure. For an IMX678 dashcam, it's running on the cooler side.
Day & Night Recording
Daytime video quality is excellent in the front-facing position. With the 4K in the front, it's able to capture plates and details very well. Colors are a bit on the more saturated side compared to other dashcams. License plates are easily readable at city and highway speeds, even from oncoming traffic. At night, the Omni 4K handles lighting changes reasonably well, though dark rural areas do show some noise. Plate capture is still possible, but not as good as with others.
The rear cam is "only" 1080p, but does handle recording at a very decent quality, and will capture everything that is happening around the car.
360° Rotation & Motor Function
The rotating lens is more than a gimmick. It automatically pans to cover events during parking mode, can track suspicious people once detected, and can be manually controlled via the app or voice command.
It’s useful for checking around the vehicle with the cloud feature when not around.
The motor is quiet and reliable. I haven’t experienced any calibration issues or failure to return to its home position.
Cloud Features (Highlight)
This is where the X800 surprised me.
Live View: The 4G module (sold separately) enables remote live view via the 70mai app. The image quality during streaming is absolutely clear enough to check the surroundings and see what's going on.
Event Push Notifications: When an impact is detected in parking mode, the app sends a real-time alert. You can instantly check the video in the app. This is a feature that works and isn’t just a marketing promise.
Voice Interaction: You can ask the camera to rotate, record, or take a photo using voice commands. It’s a bit gimmicky, but fun and can be useful while driving.
Remote Control of the Camera: You can rotate the camera remotely through the app to check the sides, rear, or interior if needed. Great for peace of mind while parked.
Battery monitoring: The Omni 4k, in combination with the UP04 or UP05, allows you to check the voltage of the battery. This is also an exclusive feature from 70mai.
Overall, 70mai’s cloud implementation is one of the best I’ve tested on a dashcam. It’s not just a feature list, it just works without any fuss.
Storage & Heat
I'm using a 128GB U3 SD card with no overheating or corruption issues so far. The camera supports up to 512 GB.
Even after long parking periods in the sun, the device only gets warm to the touch. No shutdowns, throttling, or other issues.

The good
Final Thoughts
After 2 months, the 70mai Omni 4K has proven to be a unique and reliable dashcam. The motorized 360° lens is more than a gimmick to play around with, the app and cloud features are genuinely useful, and the installation was straightforward. While it won’t replace a true multi-camera setup for full-time front and cabin recording, it offers a lot of flexibility in a compact form factor.
If you’re looking for a smart, cloud-connected dashcam with some fresh features and an excellent parking mode experience, the X800 is worth a serious look. Combined with the 70mai battery pack and the 4G kit, it will run for over 24 hours without missing an event.

The good
- Great 4k footage thanks to the IMX678
- Best cloud features I've tested so far
- Ability to spin the camera in the app to remotely monitor around the car
- Very good and easy to use app. One of the best Ive tested
- Parking mode with tracking, without many false alerts
- Nearly monthly updates with bug fixes and new features
- Rear camera only 1080p
- Audio can distort at loud bass
- Image tends to be on the brighter side
- The rear camera doesn't have motion detection in parking mode
