A119 V3 randomly forgets settings

I bought mine from Amazon and I have had no problems.

Same here and I have two of them. They've been among the most consistently reliable and best performing dash cams I've owned in more than ten years of owning dash cams. Got mine from @CaptureYourAction who I highly recommend on all counts!

We've got no equivalent specialist reseller here, which is a shame.

Yeah, I feel fortunate to have CYA and he's nearby in the adjacent state to my own. One of the cameras I purchased from him arrived the very next day!

I tried everything you guys did. Nothing worked. I contacted Viofo. They warrantied and sent me a new A119 V3 from China. The new one seems to be working. I think Viofo is aware of the issue but won’t directly acknowledge it. It must be a batch or bad capacitors. It’s only 5 months old purchased off Amazon as Viofo as the seller.

I have a old one A119 V3 from 2020 and that one is still working fine.

That's great they sorted it out.

Out of curiosity what was the problems you had experienced.
Thanks

With or without gps unit, every 2 days, the entire camera would reset and lose its settings. So MPH back to KPH. Timezone from -7 GMT to 0 GMT. Really annoying.

Thanks for the reply.
Another question last one.
Do you use the car everyday?

Why do I ask.
There is a little button rechargeable lithium battery inside the unit. It needs to charge up for perhaps a week for it to work.

It might charge quicker i haven't tested that.
Once charged it will work for ages again i haven't tested how long but more than a week from personal experience.

Of course if the charge circuit is faulty or the battery faulty then your only recourse is what you did - return it under warranty.

Your experience helps me to help others if they have a similar problem.

Cheers
