A139 3CH to a A139 PRO

The external cameras are identical, the camera cables are identical.

The Pro uses more power, so for 3 channel use, you may need a hardwire kit upgrade for reliable operation, I think depending on when your current hardwire kit was made, if you use a hardwire kit. If you use the lighter socket adaptor, you will want to use the new one that comes with the new camera, and probably the new power cable as well, at least for 3ch operation.

The Bluetooth remote buttons are compatible.

As far as I can remember, the mounts are identical, although I wouldn't be surprised if they have been upgraded a bit by now.
 
I do have the hardwire kit and the bluetooth button (needed because the base is hidden behind the review mirror). If I can do this, all I need to do is find the A139 Pro 1CH and it not cost 244 Euro. It's the cheapest I have found locally so far.

Yep. I swapped out the A139 to an A139 Pro in my wife's car and it was a simple plug and play with the same mount and power cable. I believe Viofo upgraded the hardwire cable at some point though, and I don't remember exactly when that was, but IIRC it was more for helping with 3CH setups and additional power draw, not for 1CH setups, so you should be fine with the upgrade.
 
So I should be fine with the PRO, the rear and interior cameras with the hardwire kit? The one I have is

You can try it with your existing hardwire kit.

Some people did have issues with the oldest HK3 when using 3 channels, I think the screen flickered, and maybe the rear camera image flickered a little, because of not enough power. I don't think Viofo changed the HK3 model name when they upgraded it for the A139 Pro, so it is hard to tell if you need an upgrade, it will probably work OK.

The A139 Pro is still a very good camera, and it is a big upgrade on the 2K A139. When using 3 channels, the bitrate is a bit low compared to the A329, but that costs a lot more!
 
I purchased an A139 Pro. Once it gets here, will let everyone know if its all good for all 3 cams.
 
The Pro works fine with the HW cable. And my A139 works too. I now have a backup because I found that the SD card was the issue. Along with the other SD card I used to rule it out. Nothing like testing with another bad card. GRRRRRR

Oh well.

You could use the new one single channel and the old one dual channel for the very best image quality and better heat resistance.
 
Instead of starting a new thread, I found this one which is similar to my situation. I have the A139 3-Channel. The main camera's interior input is dead. Any cable put into the Interior cable Input provides no response from the main unit.

It's now only 2 cams working, the front and whatever cam I plug into the Rear Input on the main unit. I have a choice, use either the Rear Cam or the Interior Cam but not both.

I am going to assume the A139 (non-Pro) has been discontinued as I can not find it online anywhere. How long does a particular model last before it's discontinued?

I noticed that, the A139 models seem to have sold out everywhere. Yet models like the A129 and A119v3 pre-date the A139 and they are still available. Not sure why this is. Maybe @viofo can shed some light on this?
