A329T rear camera patchy purple sky

Hi

I've noticed on my A329T rear camera recordings (the cam is attached to the glass and has the viofo CPL filter on) that the sky appears colour distorted in parts with dark blue/purple sections. See the below image.

Can someone explain what causes this effect? Is this a known effect or some type of software or hardware defect?

To put the answer in simple terms, it's the way the CPL filter removes shadows but then creates light refraction with the sky in the process. It's not a big deal. Better to read license plates, because your dashcam is unlikely to be recording airplane crashes and birds.
