I just wanted to throw this up for anyone else interested real quick. Unfortunately I just caught it and today is the last day. If anyone is looking for an OBDII scanner tool NewEgg has the AGT Compact for $16.49 with free shipping. (Item number 9SIA0XA0851751) for that price I grabbed one. Might be handy to throw in one of the cars or maybe even for a friend or family member for Christmas.

I always hear people use Bluetooth.
I have never herd of the program you mentioned, but i am a little old school in my code readers.
(Scan Gauge, Actron, AGT all dedicated devices)
How ever while shopping for my Actron i found this Actron U Scan witch seems to have it's own phone application i could not find a list of supported Bluetooth devices for DashCommand

but bluetooth model isn't working with DashCommand yet from my reserach. I'm not sure what mobile app people are using with it.

I'm not to good with these. Mtz had mentioned Torque, but it looks like it might be Android only. a quick Google search someone mentioned Rev

I read somewhere that the ELM327 can only handle 5 commands per second, so that's probably why DashCommand only works with the more expensive hardware options.

I took a glance and did not notice that at the top sorry.
I've always wanted to give the Bluetooth stuff a try, but was worried about program and device comparability like this.

The two on the page that list price are really expensive. ($130/$150) If i was going to spend that much I would just get this top of the line Actron device on Amazon. My brother bought one a bit ago and they are actually really nice. They offer

ABS code read outs
Check Engine code read outs with parts needed and aprox cost to fix
Real time data and graphs
Auto retrieve Make model and Vin and code bank on cars 2000 and newer.

Really great device if you are looking for something dedicated and high end.
 
If anyone is still interested it looks to still be "on sale" but it's now almost double the original sale price at 30 dollars. NewEgg says MSRP is $60.

I did order it myself. It shipped fast and was brand new in clam shell packaging from a seller called speedshop through NewEgg, but I have not had a chance to plug it in and play with it yet. I've been using my brothers Actron CP9580A because it has a bunch of neat bells and whistles. It seems like the Vico TF2 of code readers

I wanted to edit this because something kind of funny happened the other day. I had grabbed my AGT code reader and thrown it in the back of my car to show it to my brother a few weeks ago and then kind of forgot about it.

Well the other day I was on a small road trip about an hour away from home. About halfway there on the highway my check engine light came on. The first thing i though was man I am half way from home and if it is something serious I might not make it back.

Then I remembered i just happened to have that AGT code reader laying in the back. I was able to pull over, plug it in, and check the code. Luckly it was just a sensor that had gone bad so it eased my mind a little. I was able to make it there and back without issue, but it really goes to show that you never know when you might need one.

I hope a few other DCT members were able to grab it at a good price in case something like this happens to them.
