Allow everyone to use search

Before I registered here, I was wanting to see if my question had already been answered. But I couldn't find a way to search the forum. After I registered and logged in, I saw the search box.

I recommend allowing anyone (logged in or out) to use the search feature. It'll make it much easier for visitors to find answers to their questions without needing to register.

Unfortunately the amount of bots coming to the forum has increased exponentially due to AI. These bots were using search so much the site would slow to a crawl. Had to be removed for that reason.

Perhaps a message then saying to register/login to use search? It was confusing when I couldn't find it...

Just to tell you something you may already know, you can use Google search to search a specific website. For example, in the Google search box, type site:dashcamtalk.com followed by a space then your search terms, and Google will search only dashcamtalk.com

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing before registering.
