Not really "hacking". Several people (myself included) have written programs or scripts (there's a great powershell script available in this forum) that use the http interface (which is what this article describes) to easily download files from your camera to a PC via WiFi (bypassing the cloud), or live viewing your camera via WiFi.
You need to understand a bit about how networking works, and tweak your home network slightly to get it all running, but that's a 1-time thing.
But for me, this undocumented capability is what sets the BV apart from the others ... not being hostage to whatever limitations are imposed by the manufacturer's own apps.
