Avinta T808 wont boot

Hi Guys,

Had this camera on the shelf for a while as it doesn't boot just displays the Avinta splash logo screen but no more. Managed to connect to TX RX gnd on motherboard and can see boot info NT96650 SDK (see below)

Looks like it may have had a bad/wrong firmware update. Can't find any firmware for it. Anyone recommend firmware I can use or next steps to get it working?

Welcome to the forum Retronerd.

I have never heard of this brand before, most times with cameras like this there are no update firmwares ever, and support you can pretty much also forget.
most times with a bad / wrong firmware you just need to flash again with the correct one, it is rare you need to run a bootloader before flashing with the conventional .bin firmware.

A bit stuck then. Is it worth finding firmware for the closest camera with same specs NT96650 etc. and trying to flash or is it highly unlikely to work?

Dashcams do share SOC often and also the sensor for that matter, like Novatek in this case, but i cant say i have ever heard of a firmware from another brand that worked.

No offence, but you need to buy a dashcam. That is not a dashcam. That is a piece of junk even 10 years ago.

I've got a separate Dashcam already this was just an experiment to see if I could get it working again to use as a in home security camera. Even pieces of junk can be recycled and or repurposed.
