Firmware update for v1.04 rolled out OTA on 29th December

Now fixed intermittent issues some people had with Cloud view with some SIM carriers, as well as GPS issues when using different accessories.

Firmware 1.004 fixes the two issues I reported to Pittasoft.

When using the older CM100LTE connectivity module [without GPS], the Elite 9 believed it was connected to the newer CM100GLTE connectivity module [with GPS] and the Elite 9 would hand over the GPS functionality to the CM100LTE module which of course did not work. With 1.004 firmware, the Elite 9 now appears to figure out whether it's connected to the CM100LTE or the CM100GLTE module. When connected to the CM100LTE module, the Elite 9 retains the GPS functionality.

With firmware 1.002 I was able to successfully connect to the T-Mobile LTE data network using the CM100LTE module. Installing 1.003 firmware introduced a bug making it impossible for my configuration to use the T-Mobile SIM card and obtain a LTE data connection. It would work if I used a BlackVue SIM card instead of the T-Mobile SIM card. Firmware 1.004 fixes the bug introduced with firmware 1.003.

Gotcha. I figured you had a contact since they sent you a review unit.

nice improvements. I wonder what they did to increase video quality and what smart sensitivity is.
The phone APP has also received an update in conjunction with the firmware updates so when BOTH are updated, the camera now has different driving 'sensitivity' settings to allow for more accurate 'events' etc.

"BlackVue dash cams offer adjustable "smart" sensitivity settings for their G-sensor (impact detection) and motion detection features, allowing users to fine-tune how the camera records during both driving and parking modes. These settings can be adjusted via the BlackVue App or Viewer, reducing false, unwanted recordings."

Interesting. I actually kinda preferred the more granular 1-10 option that it was before. I wonder how "smart" the sensitivity will really be in practice. They tried to really dumb it down.

Since the firmware update of 1.08 on 29th April and the BlackVue android app update to 4.24 on 28th April (NOT Fleeta app) - I've had a lot better GPS/map location on live view.

Previously when the vehicle was parked but the camera still on and connected to the cloud, I could live view the camera, but the location map display at the bottom would always be blank.
This has plagued the BlackVue app for a long time but was never an issue in their Fleeta app.

They appear to have fixed the issue and I can now see the live parked map location as well as live view.

(Fingers crossed it's not a one off and breaks again soon).
