Hi all

just wondering if anyone has come up with a solution to power their camera for weeks at a time to have parking mode on or even normal recording for a week or so at a time? External batteries only last 24 hours or so? Has anyone come up with a solution? Can it be powered by a mains power point on a extension lead?

even if you could power it for weeks at a time you'd run out of memory space at some point

The closest would be the Thinkware U1000 + its radar accessory + battery pack + extended battery pack -> this will get you 10-15 days and only record when there is impact detected.

Anoter option is to connect your car to a charger : https://www.ctek.com/products
Show cars often have a permanently connected charger installed in a hidden place with a discrete waterproof plug for mains power placed somewhere easily accessible like the fender. So you could mount a charger in your engine bay and hook it up to a plug installed in your front fender.

What car do you drive? A large car battery should be able to run a cam for 7 days.
If cam draws 0.25A you need 0.25 x 24 x 7 = 42Ah. But that would drain your battery 100%. So with 84Ah your battery would be at 50% after 7 days. -But other electronics in your car also consumes power when parked. So I would estimate that for 7 days you need about 100Ah.

This. 12V battery charger. I do it all the time, works like a champ.

Tender, not charger. When I hit save the software keeps changing "tender" to "charger." They're different devices.

Depending on where it's parked, driveway?, I'd be looking at an external house CCTV system.
