connection to macbook

So i use my iphone to generally access my cameras etc and have to turn off carplay in the setting's no big deal, then i thought i will use my macbook instead
and proceeded through the connection process add new camera.
my macbook (latest version) see;s the cameras wifi and connects fine, however when the connection is taking place i just get a never ending spinning circle in the centre of the app on the mac?

has anyone come across the same issue, did you get a connection? soon as i use the iphone with carplay off it connects 1st time
 
I don’t think VIOFO dash cams have the capability you’re talking about.
VIOFO dash cams connect to mobile devices using the APP;
1.) iPhone
2.) iPad
3.) Android Smartphone
4.) Android Tablet
5.) Android Car Stereo Head Units

Of course you can connect a Windows PC, or MAC Computer using Wi-Fi Station Mode but that requires adding the dash cam to your home network.
What I’m trying to say is, I don’t think VIOFO dash cams can connect DIRECTLY to a Windows PC, or MAC Computer over Wi-Fi to "control" it like you can with a smartphone using the APP.
@VIOFO-Support @SafeDriveSolutions can you confirm?

I currently have my A229 Plus connected via WiFI to my Mac Studio, Sequoia. However, I have never been able to get the newest Viofo app to work with MacOS. The older Viofo app will work with my MacOS.

good to know i was using the new app maybe i will get the old app and re try

I wish that @viofo and Vueroid both made their apps work in MacOS. They will install, even though they are iOS/iPadOS apps, but only the older Viofo app runs. The newer Viofo app fails and requests me to turn off Carplay, which of course I do not have in my house. I can disable other BT/WiFi devices in the house and the new Viofo app will still fail with the note to diasable Carplay.

yeah it sucks
 
Just in case anyone is interested my macbook connected fine to my a329s aslong as i use the old app, could access all files and settings and no messing round turning carplay off and on 🙂
